Inevitable once players and staff started going down with it. I suppose most other sports will follow though horse- racing seems to be going on full steam ahead with a massive crowd for the Cheltenham Gold Cup today. Doubt if the virus will be on the decline by the start of April so it's difficult to see the season being completed. A huge headache for the footballing authorities but of course that pales into insignificance with the number of deaths across the world.

Assuming games don't start again in April the best option might be to cancel all the cups, champions league and euros and to finish this season in August/September, then start on the new one as soon as possible. Cancelling this season would create a massive legal headache for the football authorities, with them being sued by the TV companies and various aggrieved clubs who have been denied promotion.

Difficult to see much football happening until late in the year and of course it is a sideshow to the real life and death drama going on right now in our hospitals. See the Belgians have broken ranks in cancelling this season though UEFA have threatened them with being barred from their competitions. Saw a very interesting solution on the BBC website - close the season now but use the average points per game to determine the final tables. Obviously no solution is perfect but this to me seems the most sensible and could at least clear the decks so there would be as much chance as possible of having some sort of meaningful 20/21 season. The remaining FA Cup gams could possibly be fitted in before Christmas.

i think that solution is fair but you can bet somone will be unhappy and calling there lawyers.

in contrast to the premership players who have been very reluctant to take a 30% pay cut this amazing man has raised £2 million.

Captain Tom Moore, is aiming to walk a hundred lengths of the back garden(which is 25m in length) before he is 100 years old at the end of the month.

wishing you all the best; we are fortunate that we have a well run club with some reservers but it will hit all the lower league and non league clubs.
