Blimey. The terrible toll of this pandemic and its rules on non-league football is highlighted again. I just hope we don't lose thousands of grass roots Clubs. Somebody said recently as many as 5,000 might go to the wall.
Did he not even get a yellow card for that? I went for a dump and he still hadn't kicked the ball when I got back!
It'll be interesting to see how Ipswich get on now. I'd expect a 'bounce' from them, but let's see if they can maintain that for more than two or three games. Having said that, I think recently they've been doing OK anyway.
He is right about the disallowed goal with no penalty awarded. Saw a clip on SSN. Terrible refereeing.
JFH has done a great job at Burton, it cannot be denied. I'm not sure he'll ever be more than a good 'crisis' manager in the longer term, (something that some Charlton fans now suspect of Lee Bowyer) but only time will tell. Burton are certainly powering towards safety now. Unless they suffer a complete collapse, their 3rd tier status is effectively in the bag.
Let's hope there are proper numbers of fans allowed back into football grounds. And no mask-wearing nonsense. The stands and the pitch are outdoors. Plenty of fresh air circulating. Any suggestion of making fans wear masks once they're in their seats will just be control-freakery. I get the distinct impression that some individuals and authorities have liked having much more power to tell people what they can or cannot do during this pandemic. Sadly I think a new army of little Hitlers has been created. They'll need putting back in their places once we get to late summer and the infection/mortality rate from COVID19 has fallen as low as it's ever going to.
