Forgetting my dislike of the palice filth. Listening to an interview by Southgate, is this geezer one dour prick?!
What a limp wet lettuce Gareth Southgate is. If he wasn’t a football manager he would be a trendy vicar in an inner city Church, riding his bike to work and carrying a copy of the Guardian. His press conference yesterday involved “prayers” (WTF) for an injured player and a long, boring speech about BLM and the FA chairman. It’s always been very obvious why Southgate got the job & yesterday was another reminder that it wasn’t due to his managerial ability. #BlandYesMan
Southgate is useless. Being England manager is now all about woke grandstanding (he's not bad at that, so his job is secure). Nothing to do with winning football matches. Just another reason why International football is an irrelevant bad joke, especially in these troubled times.
To be fair, the best managers don't fall over themselves for international jobs any more. Not like when Cloughie said he'd crawl on hands and knees to Lancaster Gate for the England job.
That’s a fair point. Southgate did a woeful job at Middlesbrough (relegated) and would get a Championship job at best at club level. He’s got the job because of his woke image and the politically correct bullshit he spouts.
Just read that Mo Salah at Liverpool has Coronavirus. Remarkable that he should catch it, given the huge number of precautions Premier League players are surrounded by.
Well done Gareth Southgate 2018 World Cup winners England fail to qualify for the tin-pot Nations League Finals Reversing into the future...
England v Iceland (Wednesday evening) Probably the most pointless International match since... well, ever. We've already been knocked out of the Nations' League. We finish 3rd in a weak group whatever happens. Iceland have 0 points from 5 games. They'll finish bottom of the group whatever happens. The attendance (of fans) will be zero. All this will be is an opportunity for players to get injured and/or catch Coronavirus. Well, aside from a chance for Southgate to kid himself he's making progress when we beat them 5-0. Nobody's going to be impressed Gareth. Even for a dead rubber this one is poor. A gaping open goal with no meaning or merit whatsoever.
Sounds as though Patrick Bauer ruptured his ACL last night playing for Preston. Wishing him all the best.
Very sad to hear this. Patrick Bauer is one of the very few stars of Charlton's recent history. A great professional who will always be remembered with pride at our Club. Still only 28 as well, he should have many good seasons to look forward to. Here's hoping you can make a full recovery Patrick, and in the best time possible.
When you compare the quality of pitches to what everyone played on in the 70s, and the quality of warmup and warmdown work these days, it raises the question of why these injuries still occur so often and in fact appear to be more common than in those days.
