Anybody see the above on ITV4 last night......Mavericks of the 70s.....Stan and Rodney were on it along with Currie, Worthington, Best, Osgood, Hudson etc... The main point was that Ramsey, Revie etc dismissed them all and that was why we didnt qualify for any tournaments during the 70s............
I think they showed it Tuesday night and I mentioned it on the General Election thread as most were watching some political thing. Have to say I really enjoyed it apart from the odd appearance of Harold "I love a Maverick" Redknapp.......Worthington was brilliant and I loved the anecdote he told about the goal he scored for Bolton against Ipswich and telling Terry Butcher he should be in the stand as he would've got a better view from there..... Great characters and brilliant footballers.....
Yeh a great era.........is Stan ok as note it kept saying speaking in 2002 as normally he would jump at the chance to be on the box again.....
