I do not have the time to go looking through threads that drone on and on with arguments between fans so I am better off starting my own it would seem.

We have a serious game this Sunday and that is when everyone will get to see the first team squad in action.

Why be downcast before the game?

We can beat West Ham, we need to beat them and shock them or shall we just wait till some other team beat them?

I think the team is good enough.

If things do not go West hams way early on they will get worried that maybe we are not going to give them the three points. Most of our players are experienced Championship players theirs are not, tell me about the easy games we should have had last season.

Malkay has promised every player will give 100% for the cause on the pitch, very often that is good enough.

    This is great news.

I remember us expecting to beat everyone not so long ago, that was a bad mistake.

Newcastle got it right, they were worried about every game.

I remember Middlesbrough when they first came down, one of their posters on the old 606 was saying the same after they won a game at the start.
And look at them now, still here with us.
Fact is, some premier players struggle down here, no ref to mummy them, lucky for us Bellamy can take a few knocks so eventually got into the swing.
Thier fans will have to bear a few shocks this coming season, they might even start struggling, it's so unpredictable.

Now is as good a time as any to play the favourites. Get a result before they get into their stride. Also, the longer they go without a result the more the pressure builds. I see it being a draw myself.

Had my say on the hammers board Sparkey.

Not too sure about West Ham, dodgy defence last year, on paper a good midfield (probably the best in the division on paper) and strikers who didn't fire last year. I hope we have a real go at them on Sunday as defensively they could struggle.

Championship will be a pressure pot this year.

WHU, leicester, Forest & Ipswich under most pressure.

Realistically the Boleyn Ground is going to be a hard place to go for any side this season, I'd rather play them early than late, I wouldn't be suprised if we lost, but I wouldn't be suprised if we won either, I can't see a draw somehow, although I'd be reasonably happy with a point, the thing is our side is an unknown quantity at the moment, as are WHU at this level........probably be a boring 0 - 0 now I've said that <ok>

I agree with most on here. West Ham is going to be a tough place to go especially with our new squad, but the game this early in the season may just work out for us bluebirds. I'm certainly not going to predict the rest of the season on the outcome of this one - no matter which way it goes.

So true. Didn't Norwich lose their first game of the season in League 1 something like 5-1 when they came up two years back?

Tomorrows game is as important as any other, maybe even more so as it's the first under Malky, but it won't be season defining. <ok>

It will be significant because we have yet to see our first team play and a strong test is the best way to see what they are made of on Sunday.

I am looking for them to shock a few people and come away with a win.

I said on another thread that our biggest advantage is the WH Team's fear of getting beaten. They know if the lose then their fans will shread them so they will be more concerned with stopping us scoring that anything else.
And we all know what can happen when you try to defend for 90 minutes don't we?

Keeping Parker makes them favorite in my book. He works so hard he probably makes up for their weak defense and he will add effectiveness to their average attack. They will probably get there with a couple of games to go. I still fancy we can get a draw (1-1) if we hold them in the first 20 minutes. If they get off to a flyer we will have to batten the hatches!

The idea was to change things for the better, we needed to be hard to beat in every game.

Time for some fighting spirit from the players and the fans.

Teams in the bottom three get more support than teams in the top three.

The aim is the same as it has been, we go for automatic, the game is about three points and we got there looking for all three.

Job done we got all three points.

As I said above we needed to be hard to beat and show more fighting spirit and that is what we had today.

Not all clubs will have the class of player they have at West ham so the result was brilliant.
