I would recommend anyone that's football interested enough to tune in on the Swedish Stockholm derby tonight :)
It's the biggest derby in Scandinavia and it tends to get somewhat out of control.

    Djurgårdens IF-AIK
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tvillingderbyt (The Twin Derby-Even got it's own Wiki page)

It's most likely gonna be a full house (30000+), somewhat doubtful after the events before "our" first game of the season, in which a non hooligan supporter died after being attacked by some scum ultras . You can read about it in the daily mail.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-assaulted-way-match-against-Helsingborg.html

I hope that this game doesn't get interrupted and that everyone will be able to show some respect (which has been very well handled from all parts, rivals included, honoring the supporter who died) I'm afraid that I can't see that happen here though.

    Here's a video clip worth watching. It's from 2011.
The fans had a joint protest against the Swedish Football Association, wanting to demonstrate the true importance of supporters at football games.

Silence until 2:25. Feels like you're watching some non-league footie until then.
It got somewhat out of hand at 3:55 and forward <laugh>

I should be able to give you guys a stream to the link later on if there's any interest.

Sorry to hear about your fellow supporter.

We should have a minutes silence on Sunday.

Edit: just seen about Andy Davidson, priorities and all that, the fan will have to wait til next week. Or maybe we could kick off at 2:45 instead.

    Just watched it, bloody nuts.

Such a shame we couldn't get anything proportionately close to that.... Well aside from the 10 minute silence that is.

    Just being a**holes really.

    Here's somewhat of an explanation.
    http://inbedwithmaradona.com/journal/2012/2/14/the-silent-derby.html

They banned all Djurgården supporters from the first game of the season for a few years ago.
This was due to a pitch invasion, due to the supporters celebrating a nerve wrecking relegation playoff win.
"We" lost the first game 0-2, but won the home game with 3-0 after overtime.
One of the pitch invaders (there were thousands) pushed/struck one of the opponent teams players, which lead to the ban.
They do in general like to pick on the "big city teams", thereof the joint protest.

Some fans hired a crane with the banner "The air is free territory", so they would be able to watch the first game of the season <laugh> Great move!

That certainly would have got the point across, that is how to hold a protest.

How do you reckon it would have been dealt with in the UK?

Nah, the Finnish people are all 'bout that stuff though!

We're getting close to kick-off! 40 minutes to go :)

AIK-fans getting ready. I gotta feeling that this might get messy :/ Hopefully it will be dealt with far from the pitch.

I was hoping that nobody would bump this thread....

    Horrible result yesterday.

Djurgården-AIK 2-3 (Extremely flattering for Djurgården, could have been 4 or 5-0 to AIK)

This guy in AIK might be worth keeping an eye on though....
