Here it is - The Football League Team of the Decade

    http://www.football-league.co.uk/ne...announces-its-team-of-the-decade-2411700.aspx

    Goalkeeper: Kasper Schmeichel
    Defender: Angel Rangel
    Defender: Gareth Bale
    Defender: Wes Morgan
    Defender: Ashley Williams
    Midfielder: Wes Hoolahan
    Midfielder: Adam Lallana
    Midfielder: Peter Whittingham
    Forward: Glenn Murray
    Forward: Rickie Lambert
    Forward: Jordan Rhodes

    Manager: Eddie Howe

Thoroughly deserved selection of Peter Whittingham who has given excellent service to City - and that this is recognised by the wider world (and I voted for him!)

Good to see Ashley Williams and Gareth Bale in there too

That midfield would be even more over run than ours this season.

i feel bale was only picked for where he is now, there have also been dozens of better than Rangel when he was in the championship same as center halves with Williams, don't know why murray is there either personally i would've put bothroyd and Eddie Howe isn't really deserving of being the best manager of the last decade IMO even though he is a fantastic manager

Didnt we keep 24 clean sheets one season? Thats a pretty formidable defence imo.

Every single one of Whitts league goals. Some absolute stunners in there. Shame it doesn't include the FA Cup one against Boro in 2008 but it does include his free kick against Leicester. Probably one of my favorites! <ok>

Some great ones in there. My favourite is the volley t'eed up by, was it Bothroyd or Olofinjana (can't remember or identify which from the vid)?

That aspect of his game is sadly missing now but then he doesn't get forward enough to get in the scoring positions he once did. Down to him or the tactics dictated. i know what most on here will think.

Most of his scoring penalties go down the middle or to the keeper's right. From memory the majority missed have been to the keeper's left.

I'm pretty sure Tucker has journalistic schizophrenia. Sometimes what he writes is spot on (as in the case of this article and some others that I've read) and others are so far wide of the mark. Think this may have something more to do with the general direction of WOL in terms of journalism, they have produced some utter ****e over the past ten years.

For once I am happy to agree with Tucker. Unlike many on here I have tried to uphold the virtues of having Whitts in our team this season.

Our possession stats have been awful (until recent games ironically) however nobody else in the team knows how to pass and retain the ball like Whitts, even when playing in such a withdrawn role. And there lies the problem, he is being played too far back for his undoubted skills to be effective in any attacking format. Just look at the goals he has scored ffs. How often this season has he been that far forward apart from at set pieces?

With Dikjacoi out for the season, how badly have we needed a competent, combative defensive midfielder? We probably committed too much for DKJC's wages for us to go out and get another one. That has to be addressed this summer although Barry Tiger says DKJC looked more of a player last night even though the Development Squad lost to the Jacks.

Get Whitts further forward and we will see overall better team performances.

Not sure why we had to see so many penalties?

Fact. The free kick versus Wolves for his hat-trick was the last direct free kick he scored from in a league game; it was believe it or not September 2012.

My favourite was his hat trick goal he scored at Sheff utd, to end a great move.

The volley v Barnsley was special though as well!

Your mate is correct! You could feel it moving - quite a weird sensation.
There was a brilliant atmosphere amongst the Bluebirds that day.

Still can't believe they only put 1 man in the wall.

And we found a great place to park so escaped very quickly.

I think his goal against boro in the 1/4 final would have been worth a mention. That is still my favourite.
