Quel Surprise Leeds v Derby the main match. We make Match 6 and get a whole sentence off Manishe in the post match chat. Lets get automatic and ram it down the national medias throats who think the country ends at the M62, M1 junction.
Johnny vaughn was presenting 5 lives football phone in last night, so I listened to radiotalksport with stan collymore instead. very interesting. We got several mentions as a surprise promotion candidate, but it was obvious they knew very little about us.
Was Derby V Leeds on Sky? Makes it all the more baffling if it was. Same with the focus on Blackburn V Cardiff. At least with MOTD they ignored names and went for the most entertaining game first, Swansea V Norwich.
Peter Beagrie said after the Wolves v Birmingham game last night, that we had come in under the radar as a surprise contender, but on the whole was complementary.
Yeah I agree Miff...............................................................more importantly though, what's happened to the Babe of the Day thread?????
Just to stop all this ****ing moaning, it's not bbc production, it's an external production company, they can only send multiple cameras to one game a week, that game is decided before hand and regardless of the scores that day it will be the main game. Makes sense really, they simply don't get the viewing figures and the funding to cover games like match of the day and send cameras to every ground. You wouldn't want extended highlights from a single camera, it would be crap. Look on the Watford forum, some guy sent a letter of complaint and he got a pretty reasonable reply. Everyone is going to want their club to have sufficient coverage but they have to cover 72 clubs in 90 minutes so it's just not feasible. If your that bothered get tigers player where you can watch the entire 90 minutes, it costs next to nothing.
I don't expect City to get extended highlights every game, that would be as bad as complaining about Leeds, Leicester, Cardiff, Blackburn been the featured game most of the time. Just think the show would be better if the featured game was more evenly spread amongst the 24 teams in the league, rather than 4-5 teams. The league throws up so much suprise and entertainment (take Ipswich-Millwall and Wendies-Brizzle yesterday), it's a shame that some of this is brushed over sometimes in favour of the likes of Leeds, Leicester etc. FLS has a difficult job with 72 clubs to look at nearly every weekend, would just be good if their main focus extended beyond a group of 4-5 clubs.
They made a big thing about the Derby Leeds game being a match between two former Div 1 heavyweights from the Revie Clough era - fook me that was so long ago to be almost irrelevant today(and I go back far enough to remember them and was also at the game atthe Baseball Ground when Franny Lee and Norman Hunter famously exchanged punches galore and got sent off. To feature a game between two mid table sides was surprising but not totally unexpected from the BBC. We on the other hand got little mention fom that Lesta Manich guy after another top away peformance against a club that was unbeaten in how many (8?) and that had won all but two of em.. I think we'll have to cement a place in the top two to earn some proper recognition.
On the subject of FLS, why do they need to show Bruce getting off the bus or signing autographs pretty much every week.
How many times have we been over this? Feature match aside, the highlights go in order of league position before the games. Also all 3 games with extended highlights were live on sky, so they had access to better quality footage. What do you want them to do, forget using the superior footage and use their own **** side view cam just to keep the teams unfortunate not to have been televised happy? If the resources are there on a plate for them, they may aswell use them. I don't see what the problem is here...
Agreed. We have been consistently in the top 6 since October - only Cardiff, Palace, Leicester and Boro have been as consistent, and we are above Leicester. We have the best away record in the division as well, but that seems to slip past the media's mind most of the time. It is because we are not what you would call a 'fashionable' club. We aren't a big name. Teams like Leeds will always get more coverage because of some trophies they won in the 1960s and 1970s (oh, and ONE they won in the 90s - don't want some of their fans on here giving me a lecture).
Exactly, Leeds are doing ****e they won 3 in a row(two of which were at home) and they wouldn't stop talking about them, we win away a Forest and then at the form side in the league yet we get nothing. We have got the best away record in the league correct and we also have lost 2 in our last 9 games, I think they forgot to point that out when they said "Good win for Hull we will speak about them soon" And then not a word.
Jesus christ, give me strength! As if one thread about this isn't enough, there's 2 of them on our board at the same time!
And we get the same thread after every show. Why not just have one sticky thread for people who want to to rant on??!!
