Was wondering if anyone on here went on the march earlier this year? They are having another march on October 7th which I was considering going on. I have read some bad press about 1 of the people who helped organize it have a banning order for 3 years. Is this a bunch of louts or proper football people? Your thoughts please.

I'm all in favour of the right to march and protest, and I suppose football is as good a tribe to pick to march with as any other. But what this will actually achieve in terms of fighting 'extremism' is beyond me, unless it's demanding something specific in terms of government action. I've not heard of extremists, Islamic or facist (I assume this lot include the killer of Jo Cox, and the Finsbury Mosque nutter in their definition of extremism) changing their views because of a march. It'll just take up police time, especially if a few on the agitprop ' no one can say anything we haven't sanctioned' left persuade themselves that it is a bunch of racist louts (as articles in the left wing press seem to indicate) and counter protest.
I don't think anyone has suggested it's just a bunch of racist louts but it's an easy group for some loud racist louts to attach themselves to. They have some clear links to the EDL, whether the original intentions of the group were good or not.
Sounds like they all need a few maypole dancers, bunting and WI tea and cakes to lift the atmosphere.
To be fair, the last one that involved thousands of 'lads' was very peaceful with no trouble at all from the marchers.
It did but not by the news people as it went all right I think. Perhaps if someone had thrown a paper plain it might have done. Try this, not sure if it will work.
