While reading the BBC sports pages this morning and I came across this monstrosity http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19286219. Now I have come to realise that education has not served me well enough to express the incandescent rage I feel. 20p in the ****ing pound and now this. Why are there different rules for these ****s. Why reward a club who bullied people from money owed to them and I include the fans in that. If football were fair Pompey would be history and if I were a fan I would be ashamed at the punchline they have become.
The thing that gets me about it today, has Balu bullied them..... the FL into relenting because he threatened to walk away? That would be very strange. When we were in the middle of our take over they said we could only conclude it on the agreement that we didn't dispute the ten point deduction, thus taking away our right. Outrageous, but I feel more sorry for Luton & Leeds fans, proper messy business with double standards.
"The club will start on zero points, with the conditions of membership announced at the Board's previous meeting - including a 10-point deduction - not coming into effect unless and until the club exits administration." ...So they will still get their 10 point deduction, but just when they come out of administration???
I think the football league have also decided that Portsmouth are on the verge of being in a state of perpetual administration.
Football is ruined? Really? I don't know why or how they have come to this decision, but it's only a postponement of the deduction. They haven't avoided it.
Not going loco and still want you to survive, it's just signing ten players while you are in admin is crazy.
The FL has to let them sign players if they want them to play this season. The alternative is chuck them out altogether. Since they have obviously decided not to do that, permission to sign players was inevitable. I have no idea why they are treated more leniently than other teams, but I don't care. We have bigger fish to fry (if you pardon the expression).
Luton, Leeds Bmuff et al are the ones who should be shouting the loudest, as for PFC i couldn't give a rats if they go down the gurgler. When i was a nipper my late father took me to Fratton quite a lot and also went with my mate and his dad and always had a soft spot for them but being a business man myself and being turned over a few times, its for that reason i dont care about them.
You can only legally stay in administration for a year so Pompey will have to take the points penalty by January. If they don't exit administration then it's liquidation and no club to deduct points from. The reason for the points deduction suspension is that the offense of not honoring the original CVA has not officially taken place yet and they could hypothetically be purchased by someone of higher net worth who could agree to pay off the CVA of the previous administration.
Who cares?Let's just focus on our club. I can't see us ever playing Pompey in the same league in the next 30-40 years and we're gonna be two completely different clubs by then.
And they went from Premier League to that position in three years. Think it's foolish to say we'll be miles apart for the rest of time when it only took three years for us to swap places.
Pompey have a chance to reinvent themselves, and it seems that this often provides an impetus for renewed ambition and morale, and can drive them to do far better than anyone expects. On the other hand, they could end up like Luton, or worse...Chester.
