I wonder how harry redknapp is feeling now.a couple of months ago he was the fans favourite for the england job and today he gets the sack from spurs.if chelski hadnt won the champions league i wonder if he would still be manager of spurs.

It's looking as though he's out of work for a while. First the English job went, then the Chelsea job and the A Villa job, now his. Not sure where he could go now.

He got away with alleged tax evasion, he appeared to lose interest in Spurs when the England job looked inevitable. Not sure what happened between Portsmouth and Southampton years back; only have a vague recollection. Is it that he has finally got his come uppance, or has he been hard done by?

Rocky, you're a big Spurs fan; how do you view it?

There is a real mix of opinion on the phone ins.
My personal view is that it is less to do with Champions League Football and probably more to do with the fact that he has pretty publicly courted the England job. We all knew he would drop Spurs like a stone if he was offered what his ego so desperately craved.

All said, he has done a good job with Spurs, but has lacked class over the England role and obviously let it affect the team in the latter part of the season.
You can sympathise somewhat with Levy when Redknapp wants a new contract and crows about it in the press, yet would have walked away from given the opportunity with England a couple of months earlier

Personally i think levy had had enough of arry spouting off in the press all season.he done a good job up to a point last season but the dismal run of form towards the end probably made levy think harry was not up to the job.moyes is expected to be named next manager later in the week so i guess levy already had his mind made up.

I think it was clear for all to see that he expected the England job as though it were a done deal and obviously would have dropped the Spurs job to take it when offered. To my mind it can not be pure coincidence that Spurs' form went downhill from that point and I felt at that point that he had emotionally already left Spurs.

I don't think I would have been happy to keep him on after that (regardless of what he had achieved) so it wasn't a surprise to me that he had been sacked.

i think all partys have lost out here: redknapp doesnt have another top club with a manageriel vacancy to fill, spurs have lost a fantastic manager and this could well be their star players excuse to bugger off if they want to,, i doubt the champions league would have changed things personally

It could be that those (if any) that do bugger off may have emotionally left when they thought Renknapp had effectively (and emotionally) left. Time will tell.

i trust in daniel levy to do the right thing for the club and if players leave it will only be at the right price and his say so. don't forget chelski offered 40 million for modrich but levy turned them down last season.
