I have been wondering about if Sunderland supporters have kept their football echoes over the years I have kept all this seasons, and used to have them going back to the 1970's (about 300 echoes)but I had a clear out about 20 years ago and threw them away !, and I collect programmes, if someone is looking for a certain football item we could swap them on not606, if it is legal and no money involved whatever or am I wrong ?, I have looked on ebay for football echoes but no luck, but I have bought loads of rothmans football yearbooks but the first one is too expensive and the only one missing !. P S I have spelt echo wrong !.
I used to have loads but sent them all off to a kid from Mozambique who had made a request for them via the letters page.
I'm collecting the 73 cup run programs at the moment. I need luton, Man C away, Reading away and both notts county. If anybody had any of them twice I'd be happy to make an offer. Don't think it's illegal to buy and sell programs, Cameron is going to raise the price of parcel postage cause he's not happy about people selling their possessions tax free, but it's not illegal unless it can be proved you're making a business with them hence avoiding tax but very hard to prove.
We send our footy echoes to my wifes uncle in South Africa every couple of months or so. Unsure as to why he wants them cos he can get all info on internet. Argus, "a view from under the bridge" is a tremendous read in there mind. Very good patter.
I've kept Football Echo's and programmes from many games in the 1970's/80's which I keep in boxes in the loft. However, although I still always get the Footie Echo delivered, I never keep them these days..
My regret is I gave all my memorabilia to a good friend's son. All the '73 run, the 1937 final. Programmes from the 50's, 60's etc, etc. Autograph sheets (remember them?) from the 50's.......I could go on and on. As the song says "don't it always seem to go, that you don't know what you have 'til it's gone" Hey ho. x
