This just about sums up the majority of football agents...they were even allowed to take the book into the exam with them! Nearly half of agents who took new Fifa exam failed Agents must pass test by October 1st to keep their licence, but some were turned away after forgetting laptops while others didn’t even show up Almost half of the football agents who sat the new Fifa exam last week have failed, with some unable to even sit the test after arriving without their laptops. Some agents paid as much as £800 an hour to law firms for tutoring, with candidates required to study a 528-page book in preparation for an hour-long test comprising 20 multiple-choice questions. But of the 3,800 candidates, across 138 national associations, who sat the first Fifa football agent exam, the global governing body has revealed that only 1,962 achieved the 75 per cent pass mark. While 6,586 applied to sit the exam, some simply failed to show while others did not follow the clear instructions about personal computers. Candidates were allowed to bring the book into the exam, but it had to be conducted online, so those who arrived without laptops were turned away. Longer-serving agents and those who passed the old exam, which was scrapped in 2015 and led to agent numbers in England growing from around 500 to more than 2,000, have not been required to go through this process. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/...f?shareToken=52cf96892755920f5d78baa96c97ba33
I reckon I could study and pass the exam now if only I could get some footballers to represent and get paid a fortune!
i did it years ago, it was a doddle then, but now its very difficult to pass, UNLESS you know someone high up in FIFA in the UK like most of the bigger companies do.
Bob, given the money involved, could you not just read the book ten times until you were bored of it and then get someone to ask you questions at random from it? Seems like these guys get loads of money so worth a bit of effort no? Or are you saying it's rigged/borderline impossible without insider coaching? I'm genuinely interested not being funny!
When I did it, there was little or no exam inspections, you only had to pass 15 pages of multi choice questions. This Bible as they call it is so numb you can not just absorb it, it's that bad. Am I saying it's all bent? Well I know 2 cockneys who are agents and well connected to 2 big firms who can't fing count, never mind write a contract.
Some agents employ lads non licensed I may add, who mix in footy circles and talk players and families into long contracts, These are the ones who promise the world, just like Majas agent
find it hard to beleive a multi choice question exam can be that hard, especially if your willing to study. lets face it most trades (or did when i did) have multi choice questions for first year or so...then the moved to detailed written, nobody does a HNC/HND multi choice...nobody does degrees by multi choice Basically the problem is the standards have been that low for that long...those operating in this area now cant even pass a multi choice exam in a role there already performing imagine a practicing gas fitter not being able to pass something similiar off top of their head...means they wouldnt know what they were doing & explosions would be regular...there not because 99% of jobs, trades whatever have professional people working in that area!!
Passing the exam is only part of the process. It removes the ignorance excuse. If it's the Wild West afterwards then there's no point to it.
Study being the big word, most want to look the bollocks and talk flash, but know F All about how to write a players contract.
