Going next week, haven't really done any research on the horses racing yet. Any tips would be grateful
Not the greatest card ever held but the one that leaps off the page and pokes me in the eye is old boy Nick Williams’ Lapin Garou in the 20 furlong handicap chase (3.10). Very highly tried as a juvenile hurdler, in 2010/11, the Devon based handler ran him in a hot Newbury heat and then an even hotter affair at Cheltenham – Grade 2 level. OK, so Lapin Garou was last in both events but Williams is a chap who doesn’t call his geese swans and wouldn’t have wasted such entry fees if he thought the horse was little more than a plater. However, today he has the rating of a plater in this handicap chase (87). After spending 2010/11 in juvenile hurdles Lapin Garou spent a season running in point-to-points where he acquitted himself well winning once and being placed twice in 4 runs. Probably in need of the run first time out this season (his UK fencing bow) at Uttoxeter I’d be prepared to forgive him that run and would expect him to come on enormously for it. His opponents look a weak and largely out of form bunch and it would come as no surprise to see Lapin Garou go in here as the impression must be that he is better than a rating as low as 87. Furthermore, the yard are in excellent form with 3 of their last 7 runners winning.
