He has cost us again today It's great seeing lots of goals at AG after several years of boring and crap football, but the amount we are conceding, especially at home, and more importantly how we are conceding them needs addressing now otherwise it's struggle time again. We are one defeat from being 22nd.......that's how close this league is.
Most teams will playing against us when fonts gift wraps them goals. Another poor display. Didnt think stead played well either so not surprised by him coming off. Think Albert, Taylor and surprisingly Killkenny were are better players today
Needs to be dropped now. Go out and pay Elliott Ward and McManus wages for 3 months get some stability in the squad. Poor Tom Heaton probably one of the best goalies for a while now unable to keep a clean sheet.
Ive been bleating on about our central defence for bloody years and nobody, not even McDel has addressed the problem. Its all very well buying strikers and wingers, but our team has no core. You cant win sod all with that
I feel that we should all back our players and manager. DMc still giving me the right vibes with his summing up of yesterday. He refused to complain about another two serious injuries mucking up his pre match plan. Also very honest about our defensive problems. I also agree with him that while we need at least one new CB, we don't want to squander money on just anyone! I can't argue with previous comments about Fonts poor form but we are just not defending as a team and leaving the two central defenders much too exposed. Is it time for a reshuffle at the back for Millwall? Is Mark Wilson fit enough to play? It's not pretty, call it ugly if you want but every team has one. Del, do you need to be kicked in the ball to know it hurts. ps - Fontaine has to be dropped he's totally shot. Even Tangle deserves a chance - f*ck me we really are struggling.
DM said watching his interview after the game that he was fed up of saying the same thing after every game about the defence and the goals we ar letting in. If that is the case then why still keep playing the same defenders that are responsible. Fonts is the main issue and the defence did look worse after Carey came on. Maybe if we could have finished teh game with the same back 4 things may have been different. Hopefully DM will now look at the loan market to see what options there are to bring in. If he has to pick from what we already have at the club I hope he goes with the pair of Wilson and Holloway. Yes they are quite inexperienced, but where has experience got us with Carey and Fonts. Think Holloway with his size and quickish feet could be a vital player in the team.
