    1-Fontaine should he be dropped

2- Fontaine should he keep his place

He had another bad game today at fault for one of the goals, how the hell Del does not drop him is unbelievable.

Oh and the captain as well.

not so very long ago we were getting worried, when he was linked with move to southampton, you dont become a bad player overnight, feel its all about confidence, now he needs our support, not calling for his head and making him a scapegoat. specially when alternatives are thin on the ground.

Its all very well saying that but he's costing us points and doing him self no favours, what he needs is to be dropped, look what happened to Albert when he was dropped at Preston 2 years ago and again this year at Barnsley, it gives them the kick up the ass they need, 2 Centre backs are needed so badly and some decent competition is what fonts needs to keep him on his toes

just watched the highlights, shocking defending again from him which lead to their first goal. got to think, what was he thinking.

I am getting fed up of Del saying after every game that he is fed up of the mistakes the defence are making yet every game he plays the same player who is at fault for most of the goals we have let in this season. Its starting to remind me of the worst days under GJ when certain players were putting in poor performances but kept their places time after time.

I just hope he wakes up and makes the change to the defence beofre its too late as its costing us points at the moment.

Also said before the game that i could cry seeing that line up, Carey should NEVER be playing right back at his age and pace. I dont know what formation he was playing but it looked an unbalaced team in midfield. If he is going to play wide players he has to use wide players. For me pearson game is in the middle, just because he is left footed doesnt make him a left winger. Dont know why Woolford has been dropped recently, maybe his fault was he played too well at the beginning of the season but if he isnt playing then we have Anderson.

Good to see our u21 team won yet another game. Maybe some of them should be playing senior football

Woolford has gone of the boil since Cunningham got injured, seems he benefitted from a player overlapping him.

Pearson I know he can do better but he needs to be dropped and dropped fast. He just goes to sleep throughout games as I said I know there is so much better in him.

Most of us all agree that Fontaine should be dropped. But he is obviusly low on confidence. But I did see one thing from him today when he ran around with the ball and about 4 of them could not get the ball of him just a shame none of players had the sence to make some space for him to pass too, but he did show some slinky skill.

But like Pearson I know that when his confidence is there he is a good defender. Come on boys we know you can do it please take these two weeks get some confidence and return to the team in confidence.

I have voted for Fonts to be "rested" as he needs a some time away from the firing line. He is a much better player than the one he currently is. Until we can get new central defenders in on loan or permanently in January, the best pairing, until Fonts regains his composure, is James Wilson and Nyatanga.
I am a James Wilson fan and not a Nyatanga fan but they are better in the air than Carey who does not have the pace at all to compete at this level any more. Other than those two, how about giving Amadi-Holloway a chance?
And switch Foster, who may not be the best right back in the world but gives us 100% effort every game, back to right side with Joe Bryan at left back until Cunningham returns.

If everyone agrees that Fonts is basically a good defender and lacking confidence how will dropping him help remedy this?
I think a lot of the team have gone off the boil and chopping and changing the team and playing them out of position can't help.
I think Del has to take some of the blame here - although obviously injuries haven't helped his cause.
I would hope that Del will help Fonts through this shaky spell by supporting him rather than dumping him.
Which is perhaps what the clubs "supporters" ought to be trying to do too.

Will Baldock stay confident and sharp if we keep playing him up on his own - probably not.
So come on Del - help the players with their confidence by picking them in the positions where they feel comfortable.
And stop chopping and changing the formation - it ain't working. If you bought Baldock then you presumably
were planning to play 2 up front as we know he isn't a striker who can play up top on his own, which is
why he didn't fit at West Ham. So stick to the original plan, play 2 up front and work on a team shape that
will allow this to work. End of rant!

'Fonts regains his composure, is James Wilson and Nyatanga'

Never in a million years will Tangle make a championship defender.
OK Fonts needs a rest no doubt but don't anyone dare think Tangle is the answer.

I've said Fonts needs a rest but playing him out of position right side to accommodate Tangle is never going to work
Just imagine for a second Tangle playing right side - Absolute bloody chaos.

Carey is by far our best central defender and it beggars belief McInnes thinks the 2 clowns are better.
McInnes cocked up yesterday - 3 out of our 4 defenders were out of their best position.

RP spot on Del has to shoulder the blame, yes Carey has lost a bit of pace but he makes up for that in experience.

I also believe Carey is by far the best defender at the club,Del you need to use him his experience alone is better than all your central defenders put together.

Carey shoud be no1 on the team sheet if fit for one of the central defender slots.
