http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23644763 There'll be a fair few fans glad about that and willing on whoever replaces him. Though I believe it's true he has an injury, it's also entirely possible that it's a cover for SOD to allow him to get himself together if he feels the criticism is getting to him. I feel that Fontaine at his best is definitely good enough for League One at least, but he's not one for pressure (e.g. glad to lose the responsibility of being captain) and the fans being on his back will only hinder him.
If he played Saturday there would be question marks over our season as he is the weak link without doubt.
Sounds like a very diplomatically timed "injury". Whether SO'D or LF decided on this course of action, I don't care. Maybe another of the failures from Coventry/Northampton will not be in his midfield either. Perhaps now we can really start our rebuilding process without any baggage from days gone by.
Well Fontaine needs to be out for a while because unless we find another good backup CB I'm certain we will need him at some stage even though I think he has been useless for years if he can get back to something like he was when he first arrived he would be useful A few carefully picked friendly/development games could do his confidence the world of good because if he is at BS3 he will get game time.
If he is injured, then he doesn't need to be dropped. Williams takes his place, if Williams does well, excuse is that he deserves to keep the shirt, if he does badly, Fontaine is brought back in
