Do we have any big Beatles fans on here? I remember, having told my dad that East 17 were great ... , at about 8 years old and being sat down infront of a record player by my old man. He told me he wouldn't speak to me until I'd listened to an old mono record of Sgt Peppers and taken back what I'd said. I changed my tune quite quickly. Thank you dad. Favourite album? Favourite tune? My favourite album is Abbey Road (Golden Slumbers and Carry That Weight being the highlight) and my favorite song's Hey Bulldog.
Most of the Beatles albums were far superior to their singles, songs such as Blackbird and I'm Looking Through You were classics and seem to get better every time I listen to them, same go's for the Stones, who in my opinion were the best group ever.
So many. The commercial hits Help, great singalong. Never was a fan of the Long & Winding Road until it was sung at G.Best's funeral, now I think it is a class song. Most of Sgt Peppers is great.
All you need is love Tomorrow never knows - ridiculously ahead of its time http://youtu.be/7xL1ffMlzKY
Double White album has such a variety of music and always a pleasure (apart from that ridiculous no 9 thing) So many great songs on there ... Blackbird, Dear Prudence, Helter Skelter, Back in the USSR etc
So many great songs. These are just some of my favourites. And I love her. Please please me. Penny Lane. Yesterday. Eleanor Rigby. My favourte album was Please please Me. Incidentally, for any beatles fans, Absolute Classic Rock radio do a Beatles show on Sunday mornings, get yourselves tuned in.
Some gigs I've played over the years are Beatles tribute nights- so get to play quite a few my favs are Come Together, Iam The walrus, Eleanor Rigby, Hey Jude, Blackbird, Strawberry Fields Forever, Get Back ... too many to mention
I'm quite funny about what music I listen to, I love lots of different genres but it depend what mood I'm in. If I'm feeling all melancholic Yesterday might be one of the ones I'd choose.
If I listen to it it sends me to melancholy! I can understand liking it though. Joy Division were made famous by the angst-y crowd.
