I looked at the end of 1980 season stats for the 2nd Division. Swansea were promoted of course. Newcastle United finished 11th, well they have gone onto great things since then haven't they? Even more amazing, Chelsea finished 12th and are now one of the biggest clubs in Europe, incredible! The progress they have made in the last 31 years has been fantastic. Cardiff City finished 19th and well, um, ah, hmm, there you go then.
