Folks just heard a very interesting piece on Talksport, the main topic being discussed was Lambert to Villa, whereupon it was remarked upon that Villa are in serious financial crap. It would seem Mr Lerner is initiating a strategic withdrawal and not investing further funds. Indeed the suggestion being made on the show was that Lambert (if he goes) will be looking to have to make do with the current crop of players with no funds whatsoever for recruitment.

Now folks whilst I fully appreciate this is not a SAFC topic as such, just thought Id throw it in to see if any of you other folks have heard anything similar (must admit it took me by surprise)..Mind you what with Judas being there, couldnt happen to a nicer club, if indeed true.

I ****ing hope it's true - nil investment in the summer in a side that only just avoided relegation would be fantastic to see how quickly DB11The lying ****er asks for a transfer!

in the papers it rekons he will get 20m and be allowed to sell any of the squad with the incoming money going into his transfer kitty.

He needs to be backed because he is a good manager and they do have 3 or 4 canny players who they can add to

    Lerner isn't stupid.

Even if he is planning to exit , he'll want maximum return on his previous investment , and taking Villa into the championship won't make money

If an idiot like me can see it , surely a very successful businessman like Randy can see it too.

Sounds to me like Talksport were trying to stir up a story on a quiet day.

It might fit in with wanting Lambert. He has managed on a shoestring and maybe Lerner thinks he can do it for them. The problem with it is that Lambert has already admitted that it's getting harder to tap resources from the lower leagues, they are getting cute and asking big money for players that may or may not cut it.
