Floyd Ayite had his first training session today at the start of his 3 year stint with the Club. please log in to view this image There's a couple of pices about him on the official site but they're the usual PR bumph. So here's a good blog about him which was written back in February. Position: Winger Age: 27 Height: 173cm Nationality: Togo TransferMarkt value: £1.88m Predicted level: Bottom half Premier League team Currently sitting top of both the goals and assists tables for Bastia, Ayite has impressed from a very structured side. Often the out-ball on the wing, his awareness of space and movement in behind defences has been crucial this season. His composure around the opposition box has seen him either score or assist 7 of Bastia’s 15 open play goals. With a 12.5% conversion inside the box so far in 2015/16 and an average of 11.8% over the last 3 seasons, he seems to have a decent degree of consistency, though his actual finishing could be better. He’s also getting into those scoring positions more this season too despite the rest of Bastia team failing to – 1.3 box shots per 90 minutes is his best so far and there has been a steady rise in each of the last 4 seasons. This is also the most of any Bastia player to start more than 6 games. Comfortable on either foot and on either wing Ayite’s a very adaptable player with decent dribbling and a lot of pace. At previous clubs he was seen as more of an old fashioned winger and looked to get crosses in, averaging about 1.1 crossed key passes per 90. Putting that into context, if he did that this season he’d be 7th in the league for crossed key passes per 90. Since joining Bastia he’s been more of a modern winger, looking to make runs in behind defences from wide. Overall Floyd Ayite is a tricky player who could offer a direct threat while being picked up for very little money. While he isn’t a world beater, he could have a fair impact at a few Premier League sides. At 27 he’s a good age to get his “big” move to a lesser Prem-level side and if he does I’m quietly confident he’ll show good value for money.
