    Define flop.

Many players have played 1 game and been dumped. They are all flops.
If you come up with a name everyone knows then presumably they will have played a fair few games so can they then be called flops compared to the one game wonders?

But in the spirit of your question I will say Bebe.

Bebe has played more than 1 game so not a one hit wonder, but close.

    So expanding the OPs question

    Torres
£50M for such fail is by far the biggest flop in PL history
Andy Carroll is another big Money flop

I see a flop as someone seen as having potential/had a lot of money spent of them:

    - Veron
    - Djemba Djemba
    - Forlan
    - Reyes
    - Schevchenko (spelling)
    - Torres
    - Kezman
    - Carrol
    - Kewell
    - Downing
    - Adam
    - Bentley to Spurs was like 15 mill
    - Alvez

Worst for me are Carroll, Downing and Torres. We're responsible for quite a few!

    There are actually loads.

Torres was far from a failure at LFC. You are just picking out a part of his Prem career not it all. Still, no surprise there.

Totally surprised you consider Torres a flop. His record for you was outstanding.

Forlan?! They spent about £6mill on him. It wasn't even a big amount at the time either as Blackburn were after him too as I remember it. Similar with Kezman, might as well add Postiga if you're including them.

It's got to be Torres, hasn't it? His goalscoring record at Chelsea has been atrocious and almost made worse by the odd flash of quality because everyone then starts thinking he's still got it only for him to revert back to being anonymous.

Carroll might have been bad but at least there's some mitigation for that, they had a lot of money and little time to spend it, I'm sure they knew at the time that they were overpaying for him but not signing a striker would've left them very short. A bit like us with signing Pav after selling Berbatov on deadline day. Torres was a Chelsea target for ages and at £50mill they had the pick of any striker in the game but they chose the Spaniard and he failed rather spectacularly.

He has been absolutely hopeless and I tend to blame the Chelsea fans for that <ok>

But that isn't what the OP asked. If you take Torres entire Prem career he has been far from a flop with 80 goals in 189 appearances.

Had the OP said worst transfer you'd have a point but he didn't.

He has 80 goals in 189 appearances. A better ratio that many if not all Spurs strikers.

The OP didn't actually define what he meant - you did it for him <doh>

Torres has been a massive flop for you guys since his transfer.

For us he was great. They are separate transfers.

Where does the OP mention transfers? I'm sure if he'd meant transfers he'd have said it. I assume the OP said flop in Prem history as opposed to transfer in prem history is because he didn't mean transfer.

Not really. People usually say what they mean so when he said Prem flop I guess that's exactly what he meant.
Don't judge others by your own lying fake false scouse standards <doh>

That's scored at the same rate as Adebayor, if you want some perspective. I didn't work Defoe's out but it looks like his is worse, although he's been playing regularly in the PL since he was 19(other than half a season with West Ham).

Neither are the Premier League record signing but if they were I'm sure they'd be considered flops too.

Pretty sure he's talking about signings too.

    <laugh> I like your style mate <ok>

Truth is he has been a flop after moving to Chelsea no matter what you think the OP may be referring too.

Yes he has been a flop at Chelsea, please show me where I have said otherwise, but his Prem career has not been a flop and that is the subject of the article. I know it's hard to believe but it was in the Prem when he played for you too.
