If we are not to suffer another relegation battle for the 4th consecutive season he has to go and now, it's no use Brent talking loyalty here we have to change things before we are on another uphill struggle. We have no substance up front, it's Fletcher's players and for that he must take the bullet!
Think the players have ample talent for this league but not getting the right motivation from the gaffer...and yes something needs to be done Mrs.Lala.
The calls for his head will only get louder and louder if things don't change. I don't think he is a bad man just hasn't got much of a clue how to change anything. Lets hope Griffiths is fit sooner than later and he is as good as he has been elsewhere.
Oxford fan in peace. I'm not sure how many on here were at today's game but I would say that you looked a decent side second half. I was disappointed to only be leading 2-0 at the break as I thought we were excellent first half and should have scored a hatful. On that evidence there is no way on earth you will be in a relegation fight. Really pleased Pursey got a decent reception too.
Evening Richmond .... I couldn't get to the match but I listened to the match on the radio and I think you have summed it up perfectly ..... hopefully when our striker is fit again we will be putting more into the back of the net !
To be honest most thought we were going to get mullered today so on the face of it 2 - 1 isn't that bad. But, we lost and it is another 3 points or even one down the swanny. If we continue to do ok and lose then it is going to be a relegation fight again sadly. I don't find it much of a consolation that we did well enough even if the comments are welcomed.
Just got home from a day out at Broadstairs and seen the result....Mrs LaLa I thought I was the anti-Fletcher person who continued to call for a change of manager. On just having a quick look at match reports they did seem to play better......but we need goals to take the pressure off the defence, how can Fletcher change that....I doubt if he can.
I wondered how long it would be before someone started calling for Fletcher's head, I just didn't expect it to be Mrs Lala - I always thought you were more sensible. I think it's a tad premature after three games. Give it another month at least!
westernmac, over previous seasons it has been proven that hanging on to inept managers for too long results in relegation/relegation scraps (does Paul Sturrock ring a bell?) I am sick of seeing this happen. Fletcher has to go while we still have the chance of finishing in a respectable position. I have heard it all before - "give him a few more matches", "give it until January", "it's a bit early yet". Frankly I'm sick of it, sick of relegation scraps and sick of being loyal to mannagers who just aren't up to the job in hand. I didn't post this thread to stir up debate, more to let off steam. Fletcher has to go - simple as.
Oh get her!!!! You can't post on a football website just to let off steam and not expect a debate. Reasoned argument is always better than shouting. Well that's what I always tell Mrs Sensible although she often can't hear me for shouting. If, and it is a big if, Fletcher were to be sacked, as extremely unlikely that it is, I wouldn' shed too many tears. I do agree that over the last 4 years we have had a belly full of relegation scraps most of which we have lost. This season is already looking like it will be the 5th and I'm not looking forward to it. We have had a tendancy to hang on to failing managers for too long previously and those managers have received a lot of backing from the supporters which was often not merrited or would have been received anywhere else. I will give him a bit more time as long as the powers that be do the same and if it isn't working don't sit on their hands for months too long. They will, in the end, lose a lot from the seats if things don't buck up. The goodwill thing and backs to the wall thing have worn thin with a lot already and a good many don't think it is warranted anymore. They just want a team back that wins occasionally.
Mrs LaLa has already made her "out Fletcher" flag,..... just dont get caught up with the Forza crowd who think flags are the best thing since sliced bread Mrs LaLa, imitation fans who think thats all thats required to get their team playing well.....to wave a big flag and song sheets.....they need a conductor Mrs LaLa.
Interesting comments from you all...after 3 games i think we all agree that it's a "here we go again" feeling..being next to bottom in the table.. BUT it's only 3 games in..
........but it is the best part of a year of Fletcher rule BC.......and he does seem to be a bit of a bad luck charm.....and with Exeter winning now, things don't bode well for a meeting soon does it ?
Not sure if you go to the games Plymborn or like me rely on the likes of Sensible and Mrs Lala who see whats going on..i think we all have the passion or we would say "who cares".. i myself have cared from 1957 hoping for 1st Div football..most of us have seen it all before and our Dads before us probably...now if i lived in Plymouth my Grandkids would be moaning.. Gee i better get to bed..it's past midnight here..
Games around the London area has been my limitation for many years BC.......Mrs Plymborn hasn't a sporty bone in her body so it isn't a shared interest.....so London games are far between unfortunately.......Only got to the Gillingham game in early August last year.....now that would of turned off many a supporter....I think it was our second away match and the Gills didn't need a goalkeeper or defenders hardly for that match it was awful to behold......I couldn't help but think watching Peter Reid how far down the ladder he had fallen since his playing days.....I'm surprised he lasted nine games......any longer and we would of been playing Conference football this season...and probably struggling still to win. Peter Ridsdale did what was long overdue, even from the previous seasons results he wasn't up to it.....a nice man but no good in lower league football without a budget.
