If say 10m is about right and would be delighted if we get him. Yes there may be better value on the continent like a Burak Yilmaz but its always a risk to go down that route.
My mate Dan said he had a poor season last season I told him hes wrong As for Yilmaz I would prefer just going for someone who has proved themselves in England
i do think that luck can really be avoided in the foreign markets if the scouting is very well done (Carr on Cisse for example, was nine years of observation; compared to Xisco or Luque, a bit of time on Youtube). a lot of the flops in this league has been over hyped international tournament players or poorly scouted. of course any player may do poorly at a new club, for any number of reasons, but that isn't necessarily to do with a foreign league being weaker. so bringing in a well scouted 1 in 2 man for £15mil from abroad would probably be a better bet than a 1 in 3 man from this league. As long as the player has been very well studied to ensure he is as likely as possible to fit into the team and the league.
To be honest i think 10 goals in the premier league is worth 20 in say the dutch league. Not many strikers would have got more than the 12 league goals Fletcher got in the league for Wolves last year
Sounds good, not least because I am partial to a pint of Doom Bar. Fletch and Doom Bar. I like the sound of that...
