Fleming takes charge for Coventry City game Friday, November 5th 2021 Nigel Pearson will not travel to the Coventry Building Society Arena on Saturday due to feeling unwell. Assistant Manager Curtis Fleming will take charge of the team against the Sky Blues. City Chief Executive Officer Richard Gould said: “I’m sure everyone at the club and our supporters hope that Nigel has a speedy recovery. “In the meantime, Curtis will take charge for this weekend’s fixture in Coventry. Nigel will remain in contact with Curtis and the coaching staff and we wish him and the team all the best tomorrow.” https://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/fleming-takes-charge-for-coventry-city-game/
I couldn't help but notice in his return from covid interview he didn't seem quite right and it was almost as if the experience left him battered and bruised. He did say that he had come to the conclusion that personal health tops all other concerns and perhaps he is more serious about that belief. I have this sinking feeling that all is not well with him and perhaps the almost impossible task ahead with Bristol City has changed the lie of the ground in his personal health and decisions.
Bristol City manager Nigel Pearson to miss Coventry City clash due to illness Nigel Pearson is taking a leave of absence from first-team affairs for the second time this season https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/bristol-city-nigel-pearson-coventry-6167152
I have said for some time something is wrong even at one point stating "keep on taking the pills". maybe a reaction to Covid, ... or onslaught of the bugs going around sickness /feeling sick with shortage of breath or the coughing one, can start a coughing fit to the point of honking!!! his interviews have been laboured and some of his body reactions are indicative of endeavouring to control what is said ... HOPEFULLY all will be OK and a SPEEDY RECOVERY ... fired up for the restart in a couple of weeks.........
I did say i could see NP walking away from this **** show-hope it don't happen but i think the end is nigh. please log in to view this image
Maybe he’s got the ****s, I have them regularly about 70 minutes into each game. My friend who I mentioned the other week on the coronavirus thread about being worn out a lot. Has got it again and saying this is a lot worse than the last time he had it. So maybe Nige who by his own admission said the first time he had it, took a lot out of him. So maybe this time is just too tiring to travel.
the change to colder weather has a lot to answer for ... there is a "syndrome" to describe it, to do clocks going back, [ sudden loss of light at specific time like tea time !? ] temp drops, and start of the season to become ill with chest related problems ... add in recent covid and future looks bleak .... GD today comes home from school, about to go out and play with her friends and comes over ill... temp rises to over 100 ... goes to walk in centre temp 102.? in less than 2hours from getting home was causing concern and desperate measures to get temp down 103 at 6.15pm ... at 8.30 she Whats app me as right as rain chats for 15 mins and then says her tea is ready! ONLY thing that looked off was her face /forehead was rather red...........
Like everyone else I hope there are no long term health issues with Nigel but there is this lingering doubt that tells me something may be amiss with his tenure as manager of Bristol City. The body language and the overall demeanour during interviews makes me ask does he see an impossible task ahead even with a transfer window coming up in January? The last thing I want is for him to leave because he is the closest to a known manager that we have had in the last few years and to ruin the hype surrounding his arrival would be such a shame. No disrespect to Curtis but let's hope we don't end up using a second in charge approach again because it doesn't work. Fingers crossed that Nigel will return soon healthy and wise to what is needed to bring us back from the brink.
My morning coffee has brewed and my toast is sitting by my side to await what transpires today. Let's hope for a better performance today against a dangerous team.
