Will probably get shot down in flames with this but here goes: Happy with a point but devastated to lose two............. However I thought Mig could have done a bit better with their last two goals. I thought he was back on his heels instead of on his toes which may have helped with him reacting more to the shots. I think it may be disappointment to lose from such a commanding position. I wait with baited breath for you guys replies.
I thought the second goal was pretty much centre, and therefore he should have it covered, but fr me, the 3rd was just a very good hit. Shame we gave Kolarov do much space, by defending a wee bit too deep.
Mig was at fault for the equaliser imo. Had time to see it and it was centre of the target and that should be food and drink for a keeper. He couldn't do much about the 2nd as it was through a body of players but I also thought he was at fault for the QPR free kick as he was poorly placed there as well. That said, he has done very well recently and isn't the only one that has to shoulder blame for the 2 quick goals. We didn't close them down quick enough and paid a very high penalty.
Hes a camera save merchant. He makes easy saves look class and parries and punches loads that should be caught. He's the third best keeper at the club imo
He's made some great saves but the basics seem to be costing us. I still think he could have done a lot better with citehs 2nd & 3rd goals.
For the second yes not so sure about the third one though it went through two of our defenders who should have either blocked it or cleared it.
Thought we looked poorer once Killgallon went off, still don't rate the Greek rather see Killgallon a run and give Flash a run out.
Aye Migs ****e, get rid.... At the same time lets forget about his pen save against the mags, and that great double save...
I think some people can be over critical about Mig. We can only look at the goals from the TV cameras point of view not from his. It is quite possible he was unsighted by players in the way and that could explain why he couldn't react simply because he didn't have time. Anyway they were both good shots travelling quite fast and, if Mig was at fault, so were other members of our defense for preventing the City players from getting a shot in especially the second goal where he was given much too much space. I am pleased with the way Mig is progressing. He is still learning his craft and looks a much better keeper than the Mig we had at the end of last season. But did anyone else notice that Westwood was named on the bench in preference to Gordon. I wonder if there is anything significant in that.
My point was that he appeared to be back on his heels. In most other sports you have to be 'on your toes'. Maybe this could be worked on in training as I do think he could be a great goalkeeper.
Be real. Balotelli was allowed to move too far across our penalty box without blocking cover going in. Tiredness? I don't know. Some pace on the shot, though. Likewise with Kolarov. He's a crap left back, (that's why they bought Clichy) but with a hell of a dig on him. We should have been aware, not allowed him space and closed him down as well. Mignolet's all right and only young.
Funny how they scored when Killa came off and the Greek came on.... Kyrgiakos is excellent against big attackers like Heskey, but he is too slow and positional play too weak against the quicker forwards of the premier league. eidit: so I dont tkink Mig should be blamed for their goals
Kind of agree with this point but I don;'t think either the second or 3rd goals were the greek's fault - we needed to ste up and put more pressure on players - Bardsley was left 2 on 1 with Balotelli having the ball and had little back up - Killa was class IMO - should start every game playing like that - read the game well and positional play was superb. Colback - **** me he's the best left back at the club!! twice he's played there and he's been awesome - McClean had a decent game even though he was quiet he was very workmanlike - and Bendtner - if he played like that every week he wouldn't be at Sunderland - Arsenal would be wanting him back On their equaliser - Mignolet at full speed looked like he should've got it - but when you see the replay from behind the goal the ball came through 4 players and he must've only seen it 8 yards away by which time it's as good as past him - not Mig's fault and, to be honest - it was the only way they were ever going to score - either by cheating to win penalties or with long range efforts as they had hardly got into our box before the 84th minute
