Flanagan also had words of praise for his manager at the Academy, Rodolfo Borrell.

"He's been great - he started me off at U18 level and he's given me a chance, and here I am now, so I'd like to thank him as well," said the teen star.

"They give youngsters a chance at the Academy - it's just dead good down there now."

Glad to see the Academy improving in terms of better youngsters, better training, better coaches etc. Rafa did a great job of setting up and we're starting to see the benefits of it.

It would be interesting to see if Kenny would bring Rafa back to oversee the development of youth. Would be a nice gesture.

    The Academy: it's dead good.

I believe Guardiola said the same recently.

I feel that the younger lads know they will now get a chance if they are good enough and that might spur them on even more. That can only be good for the future of Liverpool Football Club.
