Decent squad player, I suppose. Can play at full back as well as in midfield. Only concern is the fact that he was out for a while with a serious injury.
I misread your title first and thought it said 'rejects'... I was about to go ballistic thinking we'd managed to balls up a free transfer! However, that gives us a bit of breathing room in midfield now. Happy with this transfer. He was s4it hot in 2007/08 and is still in his 20s. I'd stick him straight into the XI against Spurs... he knows what's it's about.
Decent signing. He was playing well for Milan last season, bit surprised that they didn't offer him a longer contract. He will be a very solid addition to our squad
That would be hitting rock bottom - now we got two FREE transfers. Wohooo! But in reality I think this is good - experienced, know the PL, can run like a mad man, can tackle....so good squad player indeed.
Good addition but is he ready for Sunday? He's had no play time so far and going into a big competitive game may not be a good idea.
I think it would be risky throwing him in on Sunday given that he's not had much match time recently. Maybe put him on the bench and he can help to sure up the MF if we're winning in the second half ?
Solid, experienced, older head to have about the place - good signing for our squad. Hopefully this is the first of several movements to come before the window closes!
Flamini's squad number will be revealed on Twitter within the next 20mins.Yes Arsenal.com really have Tweeted that.
When I looked at his record for last season, I was pleasantly surprised. His inclusion in the team coincided with AC's revival. I think he was an excellent addition and I am happier signing him than many of the names being thrown around lately. Might have something to prove, and be hungry for success. Could be a really good pick up.
I think this would make sense. At the moment, Ramsey is in good touch as is the rest of our first team midfielder. Only tweak we'll have to do is moving Cazorla into the left wing and putting Rosicky into our central midfield. It's a shame as i prefer Cazorla in the middle.
Tbh Flamini on a free is really good business. He will be a very useful player to have in the squad. He has experience playing in both the EPL and the CL and has played most of his career at Arsenal and Milan so is used to the pressure of being at a large club. At 29 he will be an experienced head to have in the dressing room but still has some years left at the top. He gives us another midfield option (naturally a DM) and also offers cover in defence. I think it's a good move and he will be good to have in the squad (and we need squad depth at the moment). I can understand people being underwhelmed by this signing but if you look at it for what it is then i think it's a good transfer. I highly doubt this is the only deal we will get doneand i think it should be judged as an individual transfer rather than as our whole transfer activity otherwise people will be on Flaminis back from the start.
Decent squad player, still need 3-4 more players (LW, DM, CB, ST) Di Maria Gundo/Bender Williams <Insert Striker Here>
