Having been taken to the European Court Of Human Rights for prejudice in only allowing " a rider to hit his mount 8 times when performing on the level- as opposed to nine times when you're jumping," it has been decreed that "you will not now be automatically banned, but your actions will now trigger a review of your ride." Furthermore, they have stated that " the number of times you can whip your mount doesn't work. In the heat of a finish, you are entirely focused on coming and winning. It was made out to be a welfare issue but never was." However, it seems to me that this will not be the end of the matter, although some persons will feel it is the"end" that matters! Also, by intoducing these silly rules, flagellation will now soar in popularity. What will they do next? Probably try and apply them to horse racing! What do other members think?
