When Bristol City were a championship side -our opening and closing fixtures were more often than not against teams from the north-west... as we won't be playing Preston in the first game, the only other north-western side is Oldham, so 1st match v Oldham (home) last match v Preston (away) the boxing day match is never a local derby, but somewhere relatively close so must be Brentford -home
