Finally registered! I followed all the excitement of last season from a few thousand miles away here in the south of Peru, Arequipa. I admit to crying as I got up at 5am to tune in to the pre-match build up for our final game against Leeds. It was tears of relief when the news came in about our non points deduction. Other highlights of the season, that caused my wife to think I was truly demented when I started shouting and running round the flat like a lunatic were beating the Welsh at home, Reading away and Leicester at home, to name a few. After going up I told myself I would enjoy every second of being in the Premiership whatever our fate. I wouldn't stress and panic like I did at times last season, wondering if we'd hold on to our 1 0 lead at Barnsley! I must admit things have gone a bit flat since the end of the season and the goons are doing their best to spoil any enjoyment of last season's success. But I live in hope as well as in Peru, and I think there are good times ahead. The fantasy of course is that the Mittals will come through and build a new stadium and we'll be playing Champions league football in a couple of years time. The reality is that I'll be happy if we become a stable, middle of the table Premiership side for years to come, with owners that actually think of the fans. This morning though the gloom lifted slightly as I saw the fixtures. The thing is my wife and I are back in the UK for 3 weeks over Christmas, so potentially I could take in 3 games, Man U at home, Arsenal away and Norwich at home. Of course this is pure fantasy as actually being able to get hold of tickets will be a nightmare, but I can dream! If I start saving now perhaps I'll get to the Norwich game! Still, come August my beloved hoops will be shown playing on FOX Sports and ESPN, and ordinary Peruvians will now have heard of us for the first time!!!! You Rrsssssss! In Warnock we trust!
Welcome on board. I'm sure if you've a few grand to spare you might get a Man U ticket in a restricted view area but don't hold your breath...
