Is this the pattern we'll be following? If so for me it beats the old 2 year contracts with loans from Utd, arsenal and Boro till Christmas fizzling our seasons out. Five years obviously increases transfer value but also probably means stability for those guys on these and a yellow shirt for three. I'm guessing we should see a decent core of signed players with an outer core of loan renewals with in future a lot less change on the loan front.
and compared to taking on a £35m flop and paying a loan fee and his wages? Sounds good business...it will all end in tears for Fat Sam
