Hessy is not happy with the squad's fitness, read here:

Ok it may be a fair point that our fitness levels aren't good enough but it is down to Hessy as he is in charge of the training, it is not as it is a new squad he has just inheirited!! I am not sure about your feelings but when things go bad Hess always has an excuse ready for the press, we are not fit enough, or the one that was used too often last season; we weren't at the races today. Arggh, it winds me up!!

I would prefer Hess to keep the critisms of the squad on the training ground and work on a solution rather than "moaning" to the press, but it could just be me

Nothing to do with the fact that they played so many games pre-season and are now knackered out?

As BSG says, surely it's down to Hess to make sure that they're fit enough, although perhaps the type of football they're playing isn't helping. I get the impression that they're playing the long ball game as a basic tactic, which if true will mean that certainly the forwards and midfield will spend a lot of time running forwards to chase the ball, and then (usually) backwards when it's given away.
