Off up to Beadnall for a week sea fishing any lads on here like a bit of a cast?
I love sea fishing. Used to go out on the boat with my Dad when I was a lad. Fished overnight on a Roker quite a few times. Mind it was more the cans of ale and banter which I went for. My brother manages a fishing tackle shop in Sunderland and he does loads of coarse match fishing but I don’t get out any moreOff up to Beadnall for a week sea fishing any lads on here like a bit of a cast?
I don’t think that’s far from where I am might give it a tryI love a bit sea fishing.. Dunstanburgh castle is my favourite spot. Sadly even though I run my own business, I'm still a slave to Jeff Bezos and struggle to string more than 2 days off a week!

You need to park in Craster and do the walk up to the castle - it's not fun if you take too much kit! A barrow of some sort would help trust me!I don’t think that’s far from where I am might give it a try![]()
Thanks for that info mate sounds the business our lads coming up from Lincoln with his wife so we can get fishing in while the lasses clear off shopping. Speak to the staff in the castle ticket office and tell them you're fishing, they'll let you in for free. When you enter walk straight across the green to the far right hand corner. There's a doorway in the wall that takes you out onto the cliff out the back. There are loads of good spots to set up all the way along, although if the water is rough stay up high. It's a mad bit of geography... part of the 'Whin Sill', one side is sheer into (I think) the deepest water direct off the coast in the UK - the other side is a gentle slope into the water.
Don't bother if it's wet as the rocks are slippy as hell!
It was the scene of my favourite catch.. The water was gin clear and I saw a fat Coaley shoot up from the depths to take my bait just below the surface as I retrieved - a proper buzz!

Most people use feathers when the mackerel are in, and bottom fish the rest of the time.. I like to dabble with a float although it's deep and you need to get your stop knot miles high up the line. Thanks for that info mate sounds the business our lads coming up from Lincoln with his wife so we can get fishing in while the lasses clear off shopping. I've done a little course fishing.. it's fun but I like to eat my catch plus you need a rod license and permits to fish specific locations. I find sea fishing a little bit more raw and you can just go and explore and fish anywhere you want. You should give it a go.. I'd recommend heading out on a charter boat trip (there are good boats out of the Wear and Tyne, Whitby is a good shout too, you'll get kit hire + advice.. not to mention the much higher likelihood of getting into good fish.I only do a little bit of fishing on the river ouse, never tried sea fishing
But if you’d caught a fish ooooh man! YYyiiipppeeeiiiaaaa. Not for me. My dad was a keen fisherman and he took me with him once and I was bored ****less and freezing cold and we caught nowt..That was the end of my fishing aged about 10..

it's all part and parcel of fishingI can relate to that.Me and my mate bought a rod from Argos and for a couple of years in the summer we'd head out to various fishing spots with no license or basic knowledge of how to fish but a box of beer, a pack of cigs and some sandwiches. We did catch one fish which is quite impressive seeing as the bait was a bit of Pepperami.
I think we spent most of our time trying to get the line out of the trees and bushes that we seemed to pinpoint with laser accuracy.

I can relate to that.
Mate and i decided to go down the river one day in summer. Took a couple of cartons of beer, rods and tackle but no bait.
Tied sinkers to the line, cast out with no hooks or bait and proceeded to get pissed for the day![]()
I've done it a few times and it is.I've always seen it as an excuse to get a bit pissed with a mate in a nice spot but I'd also like to give it a go more seriously, I bet it's a buzz wrestling with a hefty fish and eventually landing it.
