Matt was apparently overlooked at RB at Coventry tonight in favour of a young CB, who untill quite recently, had an uncertain future himself
at Priestfield. Fishy must wonder if he is heading back to Dover to link up with Connor Essam sometime soon. Having shared the previous
frustrations of Kingy and Birch in a season long injury last year, he had apparently shaken off the challenge of Josh Hare and two pre season
triallists for the RB spot. However, with the three match suspensipon of Gavin Hoyte, who appears to have quicly leapfrogged him in his
favoured position, Matt might well have expected a bite of the cherry at Coventry.

How soon might he be on his way? Who do you think might be going with him?

Doubt it personally after a really good season when he last played to his potential.. Poor sole has been a long time recovering and is just whiting to seize his chance for a full come back. Yep....I reckon eel bounce back ok.
Let's keep the faith for a whale.

Urgh Fish puns haha I don't think Fishy fits in to the wing back situation or at least he didn't look like he enjoyed it against the Toon. We know he's a good player and whilst Davies has been playing well recently, I thought he looked outpaced and lacked forward running as a right back. Some will say it was to allow McGlashan freedom up the flank but he was having to come back just to assist with Haynes. I like Davies but Fish should have been out there last night unless he had any fitness issues.

I really hope Fish can get back to full fitness. I really like him and feel he is a good player. I remember when he joined the club I felt he would out of his depth (small fish in big pond). However throughout his first year he really improved and then I think when Martin Allen come in we see the best of him but the injury seems to have taken it out of him however he will not get back to his best unless we start to play him a bit more so this means easing him back. I think it may be a good idea to loan him out soon for 1 month maybe a bit more to a league two club so that he can get back to fitness and play a bit. He just needs to get the match time under his belt and improve his fitness so that he become sharp again. I really do hope he doesn't become another King or Birchall as that would be 'gutting'.

I believe that Fish can get back to his best as he seems a determined player but I think part of his problem may be the mental aspect as I think he worried about getting injured again which will be a big problem to eliminate so I think we need to work on his confidence and then I think we will see him come back to his best. Anyway we need to make sure that we are slow in bringing him back. I would say start Hare against Oldham next week as he should be in the team, it is a shame he got the injury in the first home game as I think he would have had a run in the team by now and then because he hasn't played of late take him off in the second half and bring on Fish as that will mean we get the chance to ease both of them back.
