I think we will win this game if Hughes takes some of the positivity radiating from some posters on here. I personally want him to go regardless of a win but that's just my opinion of the bloke. We POTENTIALLY have a great team if played correctly and short of a defender, we have a good squad. Granted we are playing a team who have already beaten us but if we are to achieve anything in this league then playing Reading at home HAS to be a 3 pointer! Anything less would be points dropped. Instead of the usual cautious, frustrate the opposition, defensive approach, lets hope for a bit of expressive freedom in our play. The best football I've seen us play this season has revolved around the Granero/Faurlin partnership yet that has been dismantled recently. I would like nothing more than to see Hughes guide us up the table as im a QPR fan. Only he can help me change my opinion of him. A win over Reading will not do that but a different selection and approach to games may help. I remember very well, people calling for Warnocks head after we slipped down to 17th. I really have seen no progression since then in terms of results and obviously league position so its only expected for people to doubt Hughes capabilities, after all , this is the guy who made us that promise of never being in that position again. Football is a funny old game but always at this level based on results and not performance! Great we took a point from chelsea but you seriously can't have that as your major achievment through the course of a season. Warnock beat them yet that was soon forgotten.
TE=sb_73;3703690]Well argued Bob. I'm guessing you're on paternity leave........[/QUOTE] Only for a little while. Im actually self employed so can't afford too long off!!
this season has been a bit of a let down. we have a team that is better than last year and we now have a squad which we really should not be too worried if players are missing. but for some reason we have had a few injuries at the back and it has completly fallen to piece. i really hope mark can sort it out because i really dont think him going will do us any good.
Personally I'd like to see us lose, Harry gets the job and starts moving us up the table ! Ps does anyone if this game is on sky
good build up play, then no end product!. All very nice playing good football, but you need to score goals too or it counts for **** all!. It wouldnt surprise me if we stuff reading, then MH and TF will say everything is alright and we are heading in the right direction!
I look at it no differently to a signing that doesn't work out, like a Hulse for example or some could argue a SWP or Park. If he can't sort it out then him staying could be a hell of a lot worse. Time will tell but in this game timing is essential.
Unacceptable attitude. Fair enough re Hughes, but wanting us to lose? Naughty step, 30 minutes. PS if you think Arry is the answer, the question must be "want to lose all credibility, stability and class and **** the club up permanently?"
Spot on Bob! Agree with every word. Hope your baby brings us the Luck that also seems to have deserted us lately!
The horrible truth is, none of us want a manager of our team to be sacked or resign yet we have to gauge our opinions on results and results only. why should football be any different to any other walk of life!
This is a massive concern to me. I don't think he will go either and hopefully that won't be our downfall!!
I never want QPR to lose but i think want Cerny wants is a means to an end for Hughes. Its a strange position as a fan to be in but in some ways very understandable.
You may want us to lose but I'm still trying to work out what Sunday and what year 'Bobmid' was talking about for our first win?????????????? As I've said before .............. this game will determine our season and our coach.
I'm praying we win, Hughes gets the starting line up right and that this is the catalyst for us at last starting to have a real go at teams both home and AWAY. He needs to realise that his modus operandi has not worked so far and this could also be his last chance as well. Hughes has in the past to been a good manager, his results at Wales and Blackburn proved that, he was also adequate at both M.City and Fulham so he can be again I'm sure. He's just going to have to develop as we all have to every day in our working lives, can he do it?
I agree Danish. I'm desparately hope his Birthday yesterday, some strong words from his better players or assistants, or something, someone (TF?) will Shock him into a major change in his style, modus operandi as you say. But will it happen - it is hard to be optimistic for this, looking at him.
