Argyle have been drawn away to Birmingham City in the first round of the Capital One Cup. Plymouth will travel to St Andrews on either Tues 6th or Wed 7th of August. This will be a tough test against a Championship opponent and will give us some idea of what progress Argyle have made since last season. Also in draw.....Exeter v QPR......and Swindon v Torquay.
I don't really care who we draw in these cup competitions anymore. Can't remember the last time I got excited in any of the competitions given our record. I suppose the up side is that if you are going out you may as well do it against one of the bigger clubs in it and have more chance of a better pay off. Beats playing Yeovil for example in front of a couple of thousand and still losing. We are only renowned for being the giant (losely) who is killled rather than for giant killing.
