First impressions do seldom lie And so far from what I have seen, I already do like this guy His answers come quick, crisp and clean, He´s open, but at the same time He has his own plan you can see, For how he can help us to shine Again, in this next jamboree, And the next and the next after that If things go as well as we hope, On this opening three year contract Which would suggest he is no dope, I´m so pleased to hear Cully too Sounds as if he´s planning to stay, It will keep the thread running through From the last year´s training and play, And to hear Hughton´s views on Holt Gives me hope he´ll stay with the crew, For though he´s no longer a colt This new challenge might suit him too, But whatever, this seems to me A shrewd choice, and one that could suit, And far better actually Than someone costing tons of loot, So from what could just well have been A summer of some discontent, McNally and his boardroom team Have worked quickly to smooth the dent. OTBC Onward and upward!
Hi RBF, I don't know about you but I'm feeling very positive about our new chapter! Not only can you see for yourself that he's open and honest, but also the fact that so many fans of his former clubs have come on here to give the guy post after post of glowing testimonials! No-one has a bad word to say about him! Bring on the next chapter, it's looking good!
Totally agree dave, I was very impressed with what he had to say yesterday and how he tackled the questioning, quite a different kettle of fish to Mr. Lambert, but that´s very refreshing.
Hi RBF bor, a new era unfolds, nice to know both City and Hughton are committed to a three year plan; never could understand a rolling contract. Seems to imply that one of the two parties is unsure of committing themselves. I notice that Lambert has signed for three years. Why did he only consider a rolling contract with us, I don't for one minute believe it was City's intention because they have always intimated they would not entertain poaching of their manager as witnessed Burnley's two rebuffs when they enquired about Lambert. They wanted Lambert to stay. Then there is that infamous clause in Lambert's contract. Why was it not invoked when Burnley came calling ? There are a lot of questions but as is usually the case, they will remain unanswered. Ah well bor, now water under the bridge. We have a lot to thank Lambert for so best to get on with the next chapter in our illustrious "history" if our country cousins will forgive me saying that. LOL. Will you be running your offseason competition or is the King taking dominance of your spare time ?
You´ve guessed it in one NORKIE, but I´ll be back with the line-ups again in good time for the new season.
Well I am really happy, seems like a nice guy, very smart and media friendly, obviously very humble and from what the Toons say a great fans manager and will do us just fine. Result Mr MacNally! Bring it on we are right behind you Mr Heewton ..... this is my only issue, I cant say Hughton hopefully he is ok with the Norfolk version
I think it might bring a confused smile to his face, when he hears his name sung with a Norfolk accent.
Lambert always kept his card close to his chest. Im not gonna sit here and slate him cause he did a fantastic job....but Hughton seems a straight answer kinda guy.
From first impressions he seems to go round things in the right way, but in a different way to Lambert. Although I feel Lambert still went round things the right way himself. There is more than one right way of doing things.
I think you forgot the binners glowing contribution Dave! After all what they don't know about football can fit on the back of a postage stamp ?!!
Nice one RBF. I am also very impressed by Chris Hughton in the interviews. Lambert was great for us, but I do welcome CH's ability to articulate his views without having to fall back on the same cliches all the time ("they've been great for me" etc.). As for next year's line-up competitiion, what chance do any of us have if IC and GK stay and there's a 5 man management team helping to choose the line-up every week! Having said that, I hope IC and GK do stay for continuity and dealing with the immense pressures of the PL.
Rick - you´re right, there could easily be an interesting selection headache each matchday, but Cully staying (which I hope he does) makes me a feel a lot happier I must admit.
Like you, RBF, I'll be delighted if Cully stays as he had so much to do with the success under Lambert.
