Not looking good right now and it would be a shame to waste the opportunity to get in to the top six. We just don't seem to have the whoompf to get the job done when it most matters but perhaps we can pop in 2 late goals to take the 3 points.
According to LJ our finishing was weak and needs addressing - go figure? We have lost players that contributed a total of 37 goals with the summer's outgoings and we can add more missing goals from the players still on the treatment table which almost certainly points to the fact that we are lacking some spark in front of goal. How many points have we surrendered this season because of our inability to put the ball in the back of the net, and how will that affect any business we might consider in January? More importantly what can Lee do right now to resolve this evident lack of goal scoring ability and does he achieve it through player changes or formation modifications?
Picked a really good 45 minutes to see then. First half not so good but that second half was fantastic entertaining football. Butland deserved his MoM because that save he pulled off towards the end of the game was immense.
It’s a first for me. We lost, so obviously disappointed about that. However the second half performance was brilliant and fair play to Butland - a MOTM performance didn’t only protect their win but kept them in the game. An over-used cliche is ‘ we can take positivities...’ but for me this is true
I think I may have a new favourite player , Walsh was immense , some of his passes were sublime, even his namesake would have been proud of them.
Walsh must remain in the team, he was pure magic, just the sort of midfielder we have been lacking, his array of passing was sublime...yesterdays second half performance bode's well for the future...the best team lost. PS. Buckland was fantastic.
