Well, as the title says, got to my first match yesterday courtesy of Mr Short. A forgetable first half where to all the fans who say we should have had a draw. We should have been 6-0 down. Sess, AJ, Catts Colback complete lasagne (horse meat) I posted Friday that the tactics for this game had to be 4-4-2. Two strikers, miss out the midfield as much as possible ala Sam Allardye style. Totally proven in the second half where they couldn't handle our high ball play YET STILL MANAGED TO OUTPLAY OUR WOEFUL MIDFIELD whilst a man down. Could easily have been 3-3 in the second half and a 9-3 defeat. Goals would have been nice but hey, it was a freebie so who am I to complain. Plus points for me, Rose, sheer class, N'Dieye (was he injued?) best midfielder by a mile. Mig, god he's come on a ton. Graham looked OK for the amount of time on the pitch. Dare I say, looks to have a bit more about him than Fletcher. Negative points, Catts (brain dead)' AJ, needs a big one up his arse, Colback, offers silch. And MON stubborn as fook. And...it was bloody cold..
Cold you getting old or just a soft ****e mate? Agree with the majority of that still don't understand why we gave Arsenal the space and time to pick passes out in the middle, beyond me. After seeing them do that for most of the first half (which was about as bad as I've seen all season) why didn't MON change it around to as you say bypass the midfield. This won't be a popular observation but, why not try Graham from the start next week instead of Fletcher as I don't think MON will play both at WBA, this isn't to punish Fletcher who I must admit has done much better than I thought just to rest him as he looked tired yesterday running after lost cause again. This will show a bit of faith in Graham and let him know he isn't here to warm the bench. Catts was always going to get a card it just surprised myself and everyone around me it took that long (1 or was it 2 minutes in?), Tough game against WBA been down there a few times and always came away with nothing so far, hopefully without my jinxing the game we can win it here's hoping anyway.
100% agree Talc...Question for everyone.........EVERY FOCKER.......Would you rather win playing ****e, even if it is so called long ball, lose having a go or lose by letting the opposition have the ball for 65-75%'. Win first at all costs, think about the performanes after. Surely.
It's not like we're winning thou , if we got a teams more i think our season would be different, played negative all season and were still in a relegation fight
Sorry if worded wrong, but that's what I mean. From getting into a half decent position we are back in the mix again . just look at the remaining fixtues I honestly see us picking up less points than every team below us, including QPR.
A lot of ex season ticket holders were given free tickets for this match. Me, my daughter, my mate and his son all had season tickets last year. Suppose trying to show us what we have (n't) been missing. Got to say the stadium looked great full like that. Free or not.
