That is a fairly tough opening 8 games. I hope we're quicker out of the blocks in August than last year, otherwise Nigel will come under pressure quite quickly!!
More worried about the last half dozen after the way we finished last season. While the final two games shouldn't be too much of a problem the 4 before that will/should be very tough games.
October looks winnable Didn't want Leeds so early on, McDermott will be kicking them up the arse at the start of the season.
i agree october should propel us up the league. Last 2 league games quite easy (unless their fighting relegation) which is always helpful. Shame not to start at home but always nice to end the season there.
Whats your goal difference going to be after the first game? -5? -6? That surely is the game no promoted team needs first!
We won our first game in the Premier League, then in the second season(which also started away at Chelsea), we lost 2-1 to an injury time winner from Drogba. There's absolutely no reason to expect we'll ship five or six goals in our opening game and even if we did, we really wouldn't give a ****(Chelsea will probably win the league).
Hull have a very difficult start. Chelsea A Norwich H Man City A Cardiff H Newcastle A West Ham H They would do well to get 5 points from them games
Actually think that's not a bad start at all - all the home games are 'winnable' and Newcastle away could also be, if their current disruptions carry on into the season ...
Reading on boxing day at home. Always like a home game on boxing day & tbh it´s v, what could be, the best team in the lge. So I´m thinking it may well be on the TV.
If it's anything like last season you'll be on Sky every other bloody week... On Friday nights too In fact haven't you already been announced as having a game on Sky for next season.. (read it somewhere this morning) which would be the 1st one of many to be announced I reckon
I think the entire fixture list is excellent. I'm on holiday for the opener and Mourinho's first game back in charge is bound to be televised, so I'm now going to get to see it. As you say, we've got winnable home games at the start of the season, we've got Man United at home on Boxing Day and Liverpool away on Boxing Day. Most of the long distance games are still scheduled for Satudays(at least for now), the only midweeks to worry about are a Tuesday night away at Palace(which is fine, I hate going there anyway) and a Tuesday night game at Arsenal(which will coincide with an important meeting I have in London that day, as soon as I can think of someone important I need to meet). Couldn't be happier.
