The 3-0 win at Forest was Saints first double this season, following the 3-2 win at St. Mary's in September. We have 3 chances for further doubles coming up in February with the away games at Birmingham, West Ham, and Watford. How many of these do you think we can win/will win?
We could do all 3, although the Birmingham and West Ham games will be difficult. I will be disappointed if we don't beat Watford
Agreed. Funnily enough in March there are 5 games in a row against teams we have already beaten, Leeds, Ipswich, Barnsley, Millwall, and Hull. Would be nice to win all those as well!
I can´t wait for the West Ham game. I would love to do the double over them, but it will be one of the hardest games we are going to have all season. We should be looking to beat Watford and I would be happy just to get something out of the Birmingham game, they are a strong team and now that they have played all of their games that they had in hand (bar one) they have shot up the table and are sitting in the play offs. I think too that the Europa league was a bit of a distraction for them. I think we should be looking to get 6 or 7 points out of those three games.
Thought you meant the League and FA Cup when you said 'the double'. Even for us joyously deluded Saints fans that was a step too far.
On the other hand, if we beat Man U in the FA Cup Final again, you could argue that would count as a double!
