First single bought, that I can remember was Spirit of the Radio by Rush. But judging on the year I bought the first Album I must of bought one way before that. I can vaguely remember Rupert the Bear theme record but I’m sure my dad bought me that. As my parents bought my records at the time.
First single with earnings was Mad World by Tears for Fears
First Album bought was AC/DC If you want Blood

My first single bought was Blockbuster by The Sweet, no idea first single bought with own earnings , first album wasn’t bought by me as such, I bought Bohemian Rhapsody, swapped it with my sister for A Night At The Opera, which in time I got back anyway, so now how both .

Yes, I got the album , which had the single on , plus obviously all the other tracks as well. She was working so could afford the album , I was still at school, I used to sneak into her room and borrow it anyway , I think she saw it as a way of keeping me out of her room. It didn’t work anyway as her record player at the time was far superior to mine .

I never bought a single, probably one of only a handfull around at that time!

First album - Homecoming by America, because I thought it had the single "Horse with no name" on it. It didn't, but I still love that album today!!
