With the start of the season under 2 weeks away what are your expectations after the first five league games? Got a good mix of games but also getting Liverpool and City out the way early doors is a massive bonus.

    Forest - Home 6/8
    Brighton - Away 13/8
    City - Home 21/8
    (League Cup fixture 23rd/24th)
    Wolves - Away 28/8
    Liverpool - Away 31/8

A busy start to the season with 6 games in the opening 4 weeks although its 3 consecutive weekends and then 3 games in 7 days (including the League Cup). Personally I'll be hoping for 7 points there but anything over 5 would be a good start and progressing in the cup.

Why are Wolves so much easier than Forest and Brighton?

I'm going for 2 pointe. Draws from Brighton and Wolves. Think we're going to get beat off Forest.

**** knows. Just what me guts telling me. Forest cause of the momentum newly promoted sides always seem to have like Brentford smashing Arsenal last season 3-0.

I reckon we're going to start playing the exact same way we did in the 2nd half of last season. What's going to rapidly become apparent is that - unlike last season - teams now know how we're going to play and are either a) better at it (L'pool/Man City), or b) going to counter it (Forest, Wolves, Brighton). I think we'll stutter along without creativity, as usual, whilst conceding sloppy goals whilst Botman watches on from the bench.

Only when everybody wakes up, Botman starts in defence and the club buys at least a right winger and striker - possibly also another CB and CM depending on performances of Lascells, Schar, Willock, Shelvey and Longstaff - will our season start to take on a better shape.

Looking forward to see just how wrong this prediction will be.

Ahh, the shining light of positivity.

You never know that takeover may eventually go through this season and then the sky’s the limit.

Meanwhile we can just hope that our manager doesn’t go on holiday early September and actually thinks of a style of play he can mould the players into whilst wondering when our first win will come.

    Forest - win
    Brighton - draw
    City - loss
    Wolves - win
    Liverpool - loss

    7 points.

We need to be winning against the likes of Forest and Wolves. Wolves are on the decline, Forest are a newly promoted side.

I think we could draw vs City at home but I expect a loss.

Brighton away will be hard, so I'll go with a draw.

    7-9 points I reckon.

I personally think we will batter forest. I don't think they have anything to be worried about.

    Lol!

I love your argument - basically "cos we were good last season, other teams are going to know that and stop us being good".

    This

I don't rate Wolves, Think Forest will be brought down to earth. Brighton is a bit more 50 / 50 but while were good last season, are perennial lower 1/2 table team and I suspect will be back down there this season.

Man City and Liverpool are gonna spank pretty much everyone so nothing out of those.

Can see us winning our first 3 games, City included and league leaders for a day, downhill after that.

Logically one game doesn't matter but honestly I'll worry if we don't beat forest.

We're losing to Liverpool and City and I think we'll get 1 point from the other two away games. 4 of those 5 teams finished above us last season and the only home games are forest and... the best team in the league.

I love Howe but his record against the best teams is poor.

4 points IF we beat Forest. If we draw or lose that game I can see so much pressure building after 6-7 games.
