Dutch media are reporting that SC Heerenveen have given the green light to Finnbogason to go in talks with Cardiff City. The 24 year old Icelandic striker has received an offer from the club to extend his contract but since the clubs board resigned in July the player is greatly disappointed in the club. The striker is gunning for a move to the EPL and the Bundesliga for the past two months but so far Heerenveen have turned down every bid. The club is rumoured to have set an asking price of at least 8.5 million pounds. Heerenveen have given the green light for talks because the player has every right to negotiate with other clubs, whether they will follow up with an agreement with the club is still uncertain.
goddammit! During the summer there was all talk about who Hull should sign, I was saying Bony and Finnbogason to anyone who would listen, then Swansea bought Bony so I was pleading with City to buy Finnbogason. Now it looks like you guys are gonna sign him, kudos to ya. He'll be a cracking signing for ya and a good partner for Campbell
Spanner! Got to be honest fella I've never heard of him. If true, this could spell the end of Velikonja then who wants out anyway. http://www1.skysports.com/football/...news-etien-velikonja-looking-to-leave-cardiff
Another one 6 ft +. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfreð_Finnbogason A very good goal record, 90 in 150 games albeit most in lesser leagues. Would surely spell the end of Rudy's time with us as well as Velikonja.
Steve Tucker ‏ reliably informed that CardiffCity are not in for Icelandic international striker Alfred Finnbogason.
Sorry for mister Tucker but the interim director of SC Heerenveen himself confirmed that Cardiff City have enquired about the player and request to hold hold talks with Finnbogason. Gaston Sporre confirmed the story during a radio show of the Dutch version of the BBC last night. He also said the enquiry came with a figure for the transfer fee, Sporre says that the amount is too low and will be turned down, but he gave permission to hold talks.
As Ccfc4ever said, "Well it is tucker" not the most reliable, gets most of his info from message boards.
Thing is why do we need another striker, i can understand the mercenary that is odemwingie as cover for bellers. At the moment Cornelius and Maynard wont get a look in if Faz keeps playing like he is. Although saying that, at some stage we will play 4-4-2 at sometime. I am waiting to see the team to play accrington which may see Cornelius and Maynard start, more likely to be Rudy and Joe if Joe is fit.
Steve Tucker ‏on Twitter as i 'exclusively' (ha!) revealed last night, malky mackay today confirms #CardiffCity not in for Icelandic striker Alfred Finnbogason.. Is he ITK or setting himself up for a big fall?
The Montero trail seems to have gone very quiet. Seen Victor Moses mentioned, he'd be a brilliant loan signing even if we had to cover a lump of the £55k a week he's reportedly on!
Seems to be things stirring again on this front(Montero), could be we will get our man, we shall see.
Cardiff have not reported back in with Heerenveen yesterday, Gaston Sporre told AD Sportwereld. Says the deal is likely is off. Quote Sporre: "Strange things are happening over there, one party wants him, the other not, it's a dark tale to be honest." http://www.ad.nl/ad/nl/11264/TransferTalk/article/detail/3499694/2013/08/28/TT-Spurs-opent-jacht-op-Eriksen-Feyenoord-zet-Van-Deelen-in-de-etalage.dhtml
