The BBC is reporting that Sunderland are ã25.5 million in the red. It doesn't include the ã18 million income from the sale of Darren Bent but is still being described as "challenging" : http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-12490113
There's a story on the SAFC site by Niall Quinn and he's saying they are happy with it and it's under control, so if he's happy then so am i.
Agreed. I don't think it's a massive problem, what with the Bent money coming in over the next three years and t.v. payments. But you hear so much on these boards about let's go out this summer and buy two top class strikers, let's spend ã8 on him, lets buy .... etc. I just cringe at it sometimes. I don't want a star and a crescent on our badge, if you see what I mean. Quinny will keep a lid on it, I'm sure.
Don't think yhat is too much of a problem as we have a great owner who won't let things get out of hand.
Anybody remember the debt mr f shep, left at Newcarstle? was it fabolous money like seventy mill or so, me Im not sure, but a dim recolection, in these days and times, a couple of pints. a gallon of petrol, and a cheese sarney, and Im thinking ,,,,, how do I get to be a member of parliament or a banker, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,all three punters mentioned are imo tossers.
We have sale money from Jones too. I think Bruce's business in the transfer market has been pretty shrewd on the whole and we do not want Bruce out (not incl our whingeing muppets), so that should continue in the same vein as we further reduce our wage bill inherited from the RK days of buying an excess of Fizzy pop players and putting them on overinflated wages
