  1. Just reading the sunday sun here, and a writer by the name of Mark Douglas has posted a full two page article about how Capello should be looking towards Newcastle United especially for solutions to England's problems.

    He's mentioned -

"Danny Simpson - YOUNG (He's highlighted this word), quick and vastly improved Simpson, would appear to have the perfect temperament to appear for his country, but Fabio Capello opted out for Kyle Walker with his 180 minutes of premier league football instead for the Denmark friendly. Must wonder what he has to do for consideration.

Kevin Nolan - The third highest English-born goal scorer in the premier league at the moment, but his nation have never shown much of an interest in handling him a senior call up. Capello seems to have decided his face doesnt fit but, give his displays this term for United, he deserves closer scrutiny.

Joey Barton - If the squad was picked soley on form, Barton would definetely be in it. Hugely influencial this season, he proved the perefect foil for Andy Carroll before the latter left for Liverpool. But his disciplinary issues of old probably weigh heavily against the midfielder.

Steve Harper - Since stepping into Shay Givens boots three seasons ago the reliable Newcastle United goal keeper has hardly put a foot wrong. However, Capello has preferred the claims of peterborough shot stopper Joe Lewis, Watford's Scott Loach, and Scandalously, Blackburn's third choice Frank Fielding, over the Easington born Harper".

A good read about our players. He's also mentioned Welbeck and Onuoaha. I think it's great that someone has finally spoke out formally about Capello's broken radar. Yes he gave Carroll a chance, but that's basically only because he HAD to, because Carroll was the top scoring English striker, and the press were all over the matter.

If Capello brings up Joey Bartons punch on Pederson, as a reason to suggest he hasn't changed and he wouldn't be a good "role model", he should take a look at Shrek.. i mean Rooney.

He shags prostitutes when his poor wife is pregnant, he elbows people in the face because he knows that he'll get away with it. Joey Barton is in form, and has done far less this season to warrant disgust from England fans if he should ever wear an England shirt. CAPELLO, our players deserve atleast a spot on the bench or 20 minutes to prove themselves!! They CAN be the solution to your problems. **** Johnson, bring on Simpson. **** Barry, bring on Joey. **** Green, let Harper fill that spot on the bench. Green is ****, and the fact that Harper isn't rated in the top 5, regardless of his age, is a joke.

Harper at 35 would have done a better job at the world cup than a 40 year old David James, and a joke of a goal keeper like Green. Howay Capello man!

Agree with the Simpson, Harper and Barton bit, unfortunately Nolan simply isn't quick or technically good enough for International football.

Capello is a **** who gets a nose bleed going north of Manchester. He must have wet himself with delight when Carroll and Bent vacated the North East

    I both agree and disagree.
Agree they should be picked, especially as otherwise players may feel they have to move to get recognition and play on an international stage.
Disagree in that it's good for us they're not; couldn't care less about England these days I'm afraid, until drastic changes are made from the grassroots upwards we'll never be a force to be reckoned with (it's obvious for all outside the FA to see).

Plus do we really want another Owen situation? They should scrap all international fixtures during the season or centralise contracts since it's the clubs who end up footing the wage bill when a player gets knacked while on international duty. It's ridiculous that the FA can demand clubs to release players (and threaten bans if they don't) but clubs have to go through the courts to claim compensation when a player is injured.

Spot on, its hard enough to bring players so far away from London without the added difficultly that the players'll know they're essentially having to forfeit a potential England career. I hate the idea of players being rushed back to play for England but its one sacrifice that has to be made by all clubs have good homegrown talent. I'd rather have that then a bunch of overseas mercenaries who don't give a toss about the shirt.

Agree with this but surely Nolan deserves a call-up at the very least.

Has Capello ever been to Newcastle? Does he know where it is? I've never seen him or heard of him being here at any time. How is he going to pick the best team if he hasn't seen the best players play but is content to read the red tops to get his information and learn of the players in form.
