Final League Position

The highest league position that we could finish is 9th. (OK 8th, but Fulham have a better goal difference by 7, so it is very unlikely that we could overturn that deficite in one game)

For us to finish 9th we would have to beat WBA, Stoke lose or draw against Wigan at home and Bolton to lose or draw with Man City at the Reebok.

I reckon that we will beat WBA, Bolton lose and Stoke win, which will give us 10th place and a brilliant end to a very good season.

As for the bottom of the table, I think that Wigan will lose at Stoke, and so go down. Birmingham to lose at Spurs and go down, with Blackpool drawing at Man Utd and staying up on goal difference.

What do you guys think will happen on Sunday?

 

I said a very similar thing in my thread.

I'm hoping there's a little upset at the Stoke game though, and Wigan at least grab a draw. After all, they can get out of relegation and it's gonna be the fight of their lives. Stoke, on the other hand, have nothing left to fight for and will be on a low after getting beaten by Man City and then thrashed again by them a week later.

Top 10 would be great Man City did us a massive favour last night...If Blackpool stay up that'd be brilliant!

 

I predicted a 10th place finish a few games ago

I don't think Stoke will do anything other than win and Fulham aren't finishing below us. I think Bolton will lose, leaving it up to us and West Brom to finish 10th. WE HAVE TO WIN!

I think Wigan will beat Stoke. Stoke have a huge list of injuries, ran themselves ragged in the FA Cup Final and also played last night (and lost). They just want the season to end now I reckon.

I can see us drawing with WBA, they are a well organised side and hard to break down.

 

Stoke seem to be on their holidays already.

 

We really should be able to beat WBA. It's a tough game, but we're at home and their away record is very average. I just hope the team take the chance and have one final push.

 

If either Stoke or Bolton get less than a win on the last day, and we beat WBA, we'll be 10th place. If both lose or draw, we'll get 9th if we win

 

Agree with those saying that Wigan will beat Stoke. Wigan have the bit between their teeth and N'Zogbia is flying. Stoke will be without two of their most influential players in Etherington and Pennant and already have the EUROPA League to look forward to next season. 0-2 Wigan for me. Also think we'll draw with West Brom. Top 10 finish would be amazing.

 

I think we will beat West Brom, Bolton will lose to City because they are on a downslide and City are the boyo's ATM. I also think Wigan will win at Stoke because of their momentum and Stoke have loads of key players out (or did last night anyway)

So we will finish 9th

 

I'm saying 8th. Arsenal beat Everton 7-0 on the last day of the season a few years ago, so it isn't impossible. And we won our first home game of the season 6-0.
