We (the 'we' here meaning the club management) have allowed no fewer than nine players to start this season in the final year of their current contract (well, OK, eight excluding a loanee, but I'm trying to make meaty headlines here for heaven's sake).

Some, it would appear, have been 'frozen out' on purpose by Pards or 'the club', but others could potentially be part of our future. So it seems a bit careless to leave it so late to get contracts sorted.

So who, if any, would you keep out of:

Ryan Taylor (been crocked for 2 years - will he ever recover? maybe not. Good for the dressing room, but unfortunately may never feature in the stripes again)
Jonas (past it? and frozen out by Pards. May never see him at the club again)
Benni (<cough> unprofessional<cough> and frozen out by Pards. A big talent to release for nowt, whatever people say about his attitude. The lad can play. Crazy if he just walks.)
Sammy (will he ever make it? I doubt it. He can't even get in the match day squad above Obertan. But do we just release him like his big bro?)
Alnwick (Good prospect. Come on, sign him up FFS. give Elliot the boot)
Streete (heard good things, but is he really going to make it? I think he might be worth holding on to)
    Satka (similar as Streete)
Campbell (Same as Alnwick. Give the lad a chance - and a new contract)
Ferreyra (WHO? only here on loan and with a 'mystery injury' - another one of those? no thanks!)

I think we'll probably keep 2 or 3 of the young lads and let the rest go. But that's a big hit on the squad for next season - especially with others then entering their final year too!

Now how does that fit in with Cashley's business model if we 'release' so many players without recouping anything?

    Hardly inspiring is it?

The odd thing is, 2 seasons ago the obvious choices to keep from that list would have been Benni, Jonas and Raylor. Now, Pards probably couldn't give a damn if they never play again.

Hmmm, a hint of "Sell/release all our players and get relegated" here. I may need to check your IP address for multi-account abuse MrT.

    East your Muesli mouses brain.
The question is.. would we sign any of them right now if they played elsewhere and I personally wouldn't.
Raylor is a lovely person but he is shot to pieces and a spent force I feel.

I can see the merits of keeping a few of them, if they were daft enough to stay.
Some would be Ideally suited to the Championship next season.

    This <ok>

Of the rest with a future in football... Alnwick will make a fairly decent pub team goalie <ok>

If Rob Elliot is comfortably better, and he is, given what I've seen of the two, then he'll be lucky with a pub team slot!
