....has truly hit an all time low. We were all chuffed to bits that Wales have managed to climb to 45 in the rankings table.

So Wales have now beaten a Norway side ranked 21 places above them (24th) with a scoreline of 4-1, and guess what happens to Wales ranking?

They mover from 619 points to .........................................

.............591 points taking them to 51st in the rankings table (dependant on other results)

WHAT A F@CKING JOKE! FIFA YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED!

Feel free to see it yourself by clicking Wales on this table and completing the ranking prognosis calculator........http://www.fifa.com/worldranking/rankingtable/index.html

The meaning of FIFA according to The Oxford Dictionary - Incompetent body of men, who like a brown envelope, and can't get anything bloody right. We could beat Spain, Brazil and Argentina and still go down the rankings.

Farcical! I know they are only friendlies, but a win is a win. Ingerlund 1-0 up against Spain. Will they go backwards?

Good performance for Wales today. They are looking more of a team all the time.

On his Wales performances our Darcy must be gutted he can't get in he Cardiff side.

Good to see so many Swansea / Cardiff and ex-Swansea / Cardiff players in the team.

I know Gunter, Mathews and Ramsey are ex-Cardiff players, but it shows what we can produce.

If the Swans and Cardiff can hang onto their youngsters going forward, the future looks bright. With the finances stabilising and us pushing for the prem / in the prem, there is no reason why we shouldn't keep them.

Just incredible eh... I'd love to see a new breakaway footballing organisation formed. FIFA don't do anything well. I don't even care if somebody references their charity work, because I'm sure that if you analised things, then money is leaking somewhere and they could even do that better! Shambles, joke, idiocy.

It is interesting that you can lose points after beating a team substantially higher than you in the rankings. But the thing with a ranking system is that every team plays under the same rules so it's 'fair' in a stupid way.

We're suffering because we were so shocking at the start of the year. You don't get any points for losing games, and our points are weighted heavily on our average of our performances this year. So because we've only really scored points in the last 5 games, add in the fact that you get a lot more points for a competitive fixture, and it's easy to understand why the points we gained for this match is a lot lower than the points we achieved in our other recent wins (when we beat 2 teams in the top 50 and 1 in the top 20 while we were ranked at 90 and 119) and hence if the points are lower than those matches, our average has no other way to go but down.

So what I'm saying is, if we'd done better in the first half of the year, we'd have a stronger average which would have held up better to playing a meaningless friendly at home. Which brings me to my next point, I wonder how many points Australia lost for playing Wales in a friendly while we were ranked unbelievable low?

A system which is fair across the board, but at the end of the day it's an awful system! But I don't want to be the guy to come up with a new system, too much to think about!

The same system awarded takes England from 1101 to 1174 for a smaller margined 1-0 home win in a friendly against a side 6 places above them .... go figure that one out!

England would have been awarded more points because Spain are stronger than Norway in terms of ranking position. (I think). The actual score doesn't come into it. Win, Lose or Draw, thats it. Then the calculation formula kicks in... though that takes some figuring out.

I'm past caring about the rankings, they're ridiculous & nonsensical at times!! All I hope for, is that Wales keep progressing on the pitch. We've really come a long way in a short time it seems, lets hope it continues & we can keep our 1st eleven fit & focussed. Just wishing the next qualifiers were sooner, there's no time like the present the way we're playing at the moment. That's where Bellamy becomes a concern for me, just hope he maintains the hunger for international football. It's a long time until September & he's probably near that stage where he could call it a day. He's key I feel in aiding Speed to drive this team on. So if your reading Craig.....

Just think when the pro Olympic people get their way and they get TeamGB we won't have to worry about Wales rankings.

Is this for real ? We win 4-1 and we go down in the rankings ?

    Christ on a bike !!

I was against against a GB team anyway but surely any doubters can now see how corrupt and full of ****e FIFA are. The BOA need a kick in the arse too.

Don't think that Team GB (outside of the Olympics) will ever happen to be honest. If it did happen, it's true that most games would be played in London - but I can't see the FA or English football fans being very happy about losing their home football team - England would cease to exist just as much as Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland in a Great Britain football team.

So I'd stop worrying about 'Team GB' becoming a FIFA regular - FIFA can't risk having the FA working against them. Not saying that I'm 'for' it, I don't really care - but if it does happen I think I'm one of the few that isn't worried about any of the home nations losing their international football teams.

But we should worry about the rankings as they have an important baring on seedings for qualification in tournaments...Ok there are not any draws to be made any time soon, but when the next one is we need to make sure we are as high as possible.

Unfortunately you are right, I know the rules are the same for everyone, but that doesn't make them right, perhaps we should have thrown the Norway game, we would have probably gone up in the rankings then <doh>

If we had lost, we would be on 538 points. Drawing would give us 555. Even if we won against Norway (who let's not forget where a top seeded side in the World Cup qualifier draw when we were in the bottom pile) by 40 goals to 0, we would still lose points to go from 619 to 591.

We would have been better of, ranking wise, to to not play at all.

Dont you just love FIFA and their 'friendlys'.

The win is good for the boys confidence though!

But that is not FIFA , and we can only go what they say, as they are the ones that count
